Well both my teams lost.....Spurs and Washington!

Spurs 112 to 125 Timberwolves....

But Washington played better against Denver than I ever imagined....Washington's defense was real bad at times...Mariota's interception....but it was down to the wire....and we moved up to #6 in the draft.....

Congratulations Broncos!

Your team played so well!  It was down to the wire as we've been doing all season.

Good luck for your team for the rest of the season.  Both teams seemed to truly wish each other well at the end of the game, great sportsmanship and well played!  Smiley Happy

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2025 NFL Regular Season!!!

The Commanders had multiple chances to win, but Ertz got a bit dropsy there with some balls. A pretty fun game to watch. Going for two and the win was probably the right call, just not well executed.

Giants/Patriots tonight. Probably not a great game. But you never know. Eagles fans are coming down from the rooftops, looking around, and realizing things might not be that bad in Philly after all. The Rams losing keeps the first-round bye in reach. The Bears have their nastiest part of the schedule coming up (two games versus the Packers, the Lions, Niners, and Browns). We just need to get our heads in the right place, and we'll be fine.

The Titans are clinging to that first overall draft pick for dear life. I suspect they'll look to trade back with a QB-needy team. They'd love for a kid QB to take off and look like a star in the postseason and in the pre-draft process to make that pick more valuable. Expect them to hype up one of the kids as being the best QB the league has ever seen. When you hear of a "league source" telling the media pre-draft how great a kid QB is, the "league source" will be the Titans. I don't see them sticking at the first overall pick if they can get much in the way of a return on the pick.

The Commanders at six (currently) could look to trade back and get some extra picks. They currently have a first, third, fifth, two sixths, and a seventh. They'd love to get back a second and fourth round picks to help with their build. Will there be a guy at six (or so) that another team covets enough to go up and get him? How far back would the Commanders be willing to go? Out of the top ten? Fifteen?

DraftTeks' draft value chart has pick six at 1600 points. If the Commanders are willing to drop back to fourteen (1100 points) that gives them 500 points in trade value. Pick 14 in the second round is 440 points and pick fourteen in round four is 66 points, so 1,606 points for 1,600. That's a pretty even swap and gives the Commanders two extra picks to play with. You'd just need a team around 14 to covet a guy enough to give up that much to get him.

The Commanders need a team in the early teens to fall in love with a guy higher up and be willing to spend to go get him. It could happen. The numbers work. Pick fourteen is still likely to have a first-round grade, and the Commanders need help pretty much everywhere. Getting back a second and fourth round pick could help the team more than taking a guy at six.

I'm with you, if I was Adam Peters I'd trade down for extra picks, the positions that the team needs probably would be available at a lower spot.

Re: Week Thirteen of the 2025 NFL Regular Season!!!

The Chiefs (now at thirteen) could be a good option. They have a fairly solid roster, so they don't need a ton of picks and would probably prefer to get an upper-tier guy if they could. A team looking at a rebuild would prefer to keep their picks, so the Commanders will need a team that feels they're a player or two away to want to move up. Right now, the Chiefs slot in there pretty nicely. The Steelers at 14 could certainly use a good kid QB. One might be there at six. They have more holes than QB though, so they may prefer to keep their picks and hope for the best.  Detroit's currently at 17 (likely to change), but if they stay in that neighborhood, they may opt to go up to get a better kid.

There will be options. The Commanders need a few kids to look great and whet the appetites of other GMs. Then it comes down to taking the best deal that's offered. Picking up a second and fourth isn't out of the question. Dropping back from 6 to 14 is the sweet spot in terms of fair value for both teams. Dropping back to ten or twelve would be a win for the Commanders. Seventeen or eighteen hurts a bit in value, but the extra picks would still be good.

It'll be an interesting offseason for the Commanders. Try to patch things together for one more year, or start the team-building process for when the new stadium is ready?

The game was entertaining. I liked the Commanders' call to go for the win, but it didn't work. Dan Quinn's play calling kept the team in the game. Bo Nix also played well. One of the best Sunday night games I've seen this year.

Everything changed in one weekend. The Bears are the #1 seed in the NFC; Jacksonville is leading the AFC South with Colts now being #6 wildcard. The Panthers are right behind the Buccaneers in the NFC South. The Steelers dropped out of contention and are in the hunt.

Sauce Gardner has a mild calf strain and will miss at least two weeks. It was a non contact injury, and isn't as serious as it could have been. He will get a second opinion, but it seems the worst case scenario was avoided. Jaylon Johnson and Mecki Blackmon will replace him.

, I know that was a heartbreaking game for your Commanders to lose.  It was a good game and I was actually pulling for the Commanders, as strange as that is to cheer for a division rival! But they're not ahead in the NFC East so why not. I don't have any reason to support Denver, and I feel bad for the teams when their starting quarterback is injured and the backup is called upon. I like Mariota and he did a good job to get them into overtime. But I will give some flowers to Denver as I did like to see my former Sooner, Nik Bonitto, jump up and hit that pass down on the last two-point conversion attempt.
