OP you are hesitant in keeping this bag because someone else touched it? Really? I'd hate to tell you where those bags go in the retail stores. Yikes!

If it is a "love at first sight" bag I would keep it. The cost wouldn't bother me - especially since it is in perfect condition. I have a hard time finding bags I really like, so I would be thrilled to get one.
ETA: My first post was blank. Never had that happen before.

This talk of being afraid of cooties is just so bizarre.
Do you know how many people handle a bag at a store before you buy it? I don't either, but I'd wager it is a lot more than handle a returned bag at QVC. The one from QVC is prbably cleaner.

You suspect it's a return, you don't want the bag, it will give you no pleasure. So, return it. You're going to anyway. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Obviously you don't get it at all. When we pay for NEW, we expect NEW. Something that has been sitting on someone's dresser for 9 days or been to church with someone, is no longer NEW. It's used, pre-owned. No matter the condition, it should be sold as an "as is" item at a discounted price.

Dying with laughter here. Cooties. Man that takes me back to 1955.
If they had to discount every return, all products would cost even more. I only mind a return if the accessories are missing; a Dooney bag on TSV was missing all the accoutrements and clearly was an early bird return. The bag was not great anyway, but I was bummed to return and have to pay postage for an incomplete (defective) item. THAT'S what gets me annoyed--paying SH when something is wrong.
Cooties? No scientific evidence for THOSE...

All bags that leave the Q warehouse should be in the same condition. If the bag is perfect, there is no reason whay they cannot re-wrap it as if it were "factory new." If the Q isn't willing to do that, they should either send the bag to the outlet, or sell it "as is."
I don't really think it's the same as shopping in a department store where the bags are all unwrapped and on display.
