Just my opinion. I think the D&B line of bags look old fashioned. To each her own.

I think those canvas initial totes are dated(and tacky). But then again, my opinion is only relevant to me and shouldn't effect anyone else's decision to own one. A lot of the D&B leather bags are timeless, in my opinion. I'm in my 20s.

Am I the only one who thinks D&B handbags should be carried by women who are 70 and over?

I've never heard of anyone thinking D&B bags should be carried by women 70 or over. I'm much younger and love all of my D&B handbags.

To each their own.

This Dillen bag at Macys in Bubblegum caused a quite a stir, let me assure you, with the younger crowd. I almost got trampled trying to get a closer look. The aqua got a big rave also.

When I was in my late 20's, I worked in banking in San Francisco and wore a strict black skirted suit and carried a conservative neutral bag and wore boring pumps. We had a published dress code for the loan officers/ auditors. Now that I am retired, I wear black jeans and heeled boots and snazzy jackets plus colorful bags.

Dooney & Bourke Handbag, Dillen Zipper Pocket Small Sachel

And if you did have Miss Marple's alligator bag, it would be worth THOUSANDS.

It's dated and ugly also, looks like a bag from the 60s

Just curious...what brand bags do you think are appropriate for younger people (younger than 70)?

My guess would be Kathy Van Zeeland, as they come with fake "bling" everywhere, look like a 3rd grader designed them, and they are "disposable" (ie--they fall apart quickly). {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I never cared for them years ago and still don't now. I'm Kate Spade crazy. Amazing and fresh designs and exceptional quality. I own about 20 KS handbags and numerous wallets. when I want to add new ones and part ways with others, they have an extremely high resale. I have sold them on eBay, and high end consignment for close to what I originally paid or more. They are made beautifully, never fall apart. Even the linings are gorgeous. I don't know anyone or buys D&B.

I tried to sell several at a local consignment place...Clothes Mentor (a franchise place).

They wouldn't take the satchels with the D&B logos...said they were out of date and wouldn't sell! I had a black on black one and a brown with tan letters.

I was shocked!

But they did take two Basso coats - a full length faux mink and a short rosette jacket. The girl at the store loved them!

To comment on the consignment store, they have very specific ideas of what sells in their market area, so I wouldn't take their comment on the D&B bags to heart. Those bags have probably not sold in their store in the past.
