OK, I'm over 70 and there are plenty of D&B's I just don't like. I don't need someone running a secondhand shop to tell me no one wants to buy them. I don't want them either. Why else would I try to sell them!

Are you sure you are not referring to Vera totes? I have seen DB in spreads in Instyle! Classic, beautiful bags. I have only seen old people and very young with the Vera bags.

Good taste in fashion and handbags has no age limit. The Today's Special Value tote, for example, could be carried by a woman of any age. No bells and whistles on that bag is what makes it a classic. It will be in style through the life of anyone who buys it. Good taste does not go out of style.

I agree. But I do think Dooney can be overpriced on the non all-leather bags. And there's just something about the word "satchel" that reminds me of my grandmother's generation.

Many of the styles aren't for me, but I do love my Flo bags.

I didn't realize there was an expiration age on handbags??

The answer to your question......

NO!!! I do not think D & B bags old and dated. These bags can be worn by anyone (except perhaps you) and any age.

Enjoy your canvas backpacks, girls... If fine leather bags are only for those of a certain age, then I guess there are awful lot of women out there who are a lot older than they appear to be...

Enough with the ageism! Last time I looked, there were no signs on clothes or handbags that said which age should wear/carry them. And not everyone under 70 is cool!

Just a couple of years ago I felt self conscious carrying my Dooney bags because they were so popular with teenagers. Thought I was too old for them (I'm in my forties). But because I carry what I LOVE it didn't stop me. Was carrying the QVC Dooney pocket satchel in teal and got a compliment from a male teacher in his thirties saying ""That's a nice purse."" His wife is a teacher at the same school and she must have filled him in. The same day my friend's 23 year old niece zoomed in on the same purse and said she loved it. I think Dooney and Bourke appeals to many ages.
