@Deree I totally understand your problem. I wear a size 10N on one foot and 9-1/2N on the other. Finding shoes that fit is a nightmare. I keep buying Naot Kayla sandals. They are a classic sandal -- available every year -- and I just keep replacing mine. Very comfortable. I checked and they do come in W. Hope this helps.

@Deree If you're just going to wear them in the house, how about checking out some slippers, e.g., Isotoner or Dearfoams???

No, I don't have experience with them.![]()
You will get some recommendations from people, but for what you wanted and in a 10W the Walking Cradles was the only pair that matched in five pages of shoes.

Do you like these? They have them at 6 pm in size 10 in navy, black or gray. They come in different widths. You would have to enter to see if they have size 10 in the width you need. If you need wide they only have 1 left in stock in navy.

How about a Birkenstock's soft footbed style? Maybe the Arizona. It's a wide 2-strap and my guess is you would need the 41 Regular, which is a medium to wide width; better of course to try them on. But I'm devoted to Birks for their comfort. I'm a 9-1/2 to a 10, and the 40 is my perfect fit. Shoes are definitely a tough purchase. Hope this helps.
oh- I would recommend the Birko-Flor over the leather because it's much softer imo.

Hi, @Deree. Sounds like you have a real problem with your feet. My suggestion is to check out A387979 Spenco Orthotic Slide Sandal. This is not glamorous footwear, and I don't know what you are looking for. However, this entire shoe is a single piece of cushy material, with one wide band across the foot, and a very thick sole that is soft and squishy all the way through--but supportive as well. Your foot will be held and cradled in these shoes, and they have the distinctive Spenco orthotic shaped footbed, which I think feels good to anyone. BTW, these are very popular, but if they don't have your size or color at the moment, check the same model in men's, and adjust for size. They are also sold many places. Bonne chance!

@KaySD I sure do have problems with my feet from wearing 3" spikes years ago. I basically only wear Saucony jogging sneakers these days. Wow. Your description of the Spenco sounds fantastic. I'll check it out.

It caught my eye when you mentioned problems with straps. Even if you get a wide, the instep strap could be too short for you. That is a problem for me also. Now I only get ones with an adjustable instep strap.

@Deree Well, no shoes work for everyone, but I damaged my feet the same way you did, and have always since had to be very careful about shoes. It doesn't get better over the years! But since I discovered Spencos, I find myself wearing them whenever I can--which is most of the time. Some of the styles are pretty nice looking, too, but they feel so good I'd wear them no matter what they look like. I suggested thoe particular ones because you mentioned you wanted them very soft. But my favorites are the "Siesta" slides with cork footbeds. Kinda cute, really, and available in canvas, leather, and other fabrics. Heaven.
