Another brand you might try is Easy Spirit.  I have a pair that has a zipper in the front.  Very easy to get on and off.  They also have good arch support, which I need.

After seeing my mother in law struggle to put shoes on I want to buy her a pair of these hoping they are easier for her to put on.  They look really cute too.
