LG.DUFFEL AS A CARRY-ON?

Good afternoon, Ladies. My mom and I are heading to Florida in a few weeks. I have the lagre duffel in the retired Jasmin pattern. I saw a video that says it can be used as a carry-on. It would be just right for both of us, and make it easier than handeling two wheeled carry-on's and Mom in a Travel Chair (re: a big stroller). Has anyone used one as a carry-on? If so, did it work out? Mom says she can sit it in her lap, so I don't have to carry it. Thanks for your input.
