Re: I'm Not Impressed With The Roma

I like them but agree the lack of a zipper isn't a positive, especially on so large a bag, even though, given the shape, I find the bag doesn't gap open. As for that over-sized tassel, I took it off. It's a matter of personal taste but I found it kind of ridiculous.

These bags are fine, but they are so overpriced in my opinion. When Lisa comes on and says "sorry guys" I should have put a snap closure on this but now I do. It would really upset me that now it is a good bag with the snap, wasn't so good without the snap???

I don't think the bag is for everyone and I understand why you might take a chance and order it, being on the fence. Its easier to get it and have it in hand to see if its a fit for you. I do know if it had a zipper, it would make the bag hard to get into for one and make it heavier too.

I went to Saks and tried the Gucci bag that this is modeled after and though I loved it, I just didn't love it enough to plunk down thousands for it. I did consider ordering it here because the price is much lower but decided against it.

I have to disagree, I do not think this bag is overpriced. The price point is very reasonable for a bag of this size and style. IMO.

Re: I'm Not Impressed With The Roma

Okay, I am sending back the black and metallic. I hung them on the knob with a 32 oz bottle In them. I like the style a lot. There was a crease in the black Roma that I hoped would come out but it didn't. Then there was the smell, which was still on both bags since they were packed together. I decided to condition the black bag, I have an expensive leather conditioner. While I conditioned it, I looked at the cloth and it was turning black! The dye was coming off. That has never happened with a leather bag before. Also, when I examined the metallic bag, because of what someone else wrote, I looked ver closely at the tassel and found some pieces with cuts on them...not a lot, but it is a flaw. So I'll send them both back. I was going to keep them and use them, but now I won't. Also the metallic strap long strap is crushed, I think I'll cancel the Blush because of reports that it smells and has creases also. I still have the ostrich and lizard coming, but not sure if I will just cancel them. Too much of a cr..p shoot, it is the qualit, not the style. I like the style, the tassel. Don't like zippers. So it's good that way. Not sure why some are flawed and others not. I guess its poor QC. I'll stick with Aimee, Dooney and Oryany.

For me, and I know several agree, the snap DID make it "good". I ordered the original Roma 2 without the snap and it really hung funny unless you held it in your hands every single time. It gaped open whether I had 0, 5, or 30 items in it (weighting it down or not is what I mean), so I was forced to return it. I now own the black version with the snap and LOVE it. Overpriced or not is a matter of opinion and I respect all [opinions], but the snap definitely helped with the bag retaining its shape properly.
