I just heard Jane say you should replace your sneakers every 3 months. I have never heard that before and I have sneakers that I have worn for years and they still look and feel good and give good support. I am sure for some who walk daily (I don't) maybe they need to replace them at a certain point but every 3 months? Is that doctor recommended? Just curious

She is correct, if you only wear one pair, and put in a good amount of miles on them 5 or more days a week.
I rotate several pairs of shoes, so after about a year, I toss them. When I don't get rid of them in time, I usually have a slipping episode. The bottoms get worn!

Seems a little excess, unless you are are runner. I've heard 7.5 months if you are running 10 miles a week (every 300 miles)
Also it's interesting you call them sneakers. We call them gym shoes around here.

i work out everyday - bike, run, and speed walk. i replace my sneakers every january, and they always hold up very well through the year.

Jane got you to think about whether you should replace your sneakers...hint, hint, buy them from QVC. Had she not said it, you might wait until yours wore out.
What did she base that 3 months on? Wearing them every day? Several times a week? Once weekly?
I replace mine depending on how much they have been worn, how they feel. and what they look like. Buying should be based on use, not months.

@Goodie2shoes IMO, it's just another hard sell idea that she is using. If you wear sneakers every day for work, I'd say every 6-9 months.
Even hospital staff don't replace sneakers every 3 months and most have at bare minimum 2 pairs to switch off.
I think it is silly what she said.

When they wear out. Several years for sure!
Just another sales tactic by a salesperson.

No, she didn't get me thinking about replacing my sneakers because I believe it's just a sales tactic. I buy what I want as I see the need or if I just like it. I never let sales people's jargon push me to buying anything !
She's just doing her job for QVC. I just wonder how many people fall for it.
