I have never heard that before and I have sneakers that I have worn for years and they still look and feel good and give good support. I am sure for some who walk daily (I don't) maybe they need to replace them at a certain point but every 3 months? Is that doctor recommended? Just curious
@Goodie2shoes IMO, it's just another hard sell idea that she is using. If you wear sneakers every day for work, I'd say every 6-9 months.
Even hospital staff don't replace sneakers every 3 months and most have at bare minimum 2 pairs to switch off.
I think it is silly what she said.
Hospital staff wear their shoes indoors. Running or walking outside, on pavement, is what wears out the soles.

@Goodie2shoes Depends on what you wear them for and how often.

I have several pair and change them up. When mine get crappy they become mowing and yard shoes.
I walk every day but not for miles. Not a runner. My brother is and says good shoes is a must.
Better shoes last longer than cheap ones. I can tell when they need to go.

I have so many shoes that I don't wear any one pair very frequently. It's never necessary to replace them because I don't wear them out. In fact, they all look brand new.
I'd think only a persistent runner would need to replace sneakers every 3 months. Certainly not the casual user. She's selling shoes.

I pay a lot of money for my sneakers. The last pair was around $150 because I need good shoes for plantar fasciitis and I finally found a brand that works. So no I'm not going to replace them every 3 months. When they look bad, feel bad or get slippery then I will replace them. I don't wear them all day and I'm not a runner so they should last a long time.

I just googled .... "how often replace sneakers"
The exact answer will depend on a number of factors, but in general, experts recommend replacing your sneakers every 300 to 500 miles

You can't give a time limit as it is dependent upon how frequently you wear them. @ALRATIBA is correct....a more accurate time line would be mileage. Even then, it depends on the shoe and how you are using them. I'd say when they are no longer serving their function, time for a new pair.

I don't own any sneakers. They hurt my feet and are uncomfortable.
If you wear shoes without socks and the same pair everyday. You need to replace them often unless you can wash them. Some people have really sweaty feet I have seen and smelled some pretty bad sneakers and boots.
