I've lost more than 20 lbs. in the past year.  Going down a few clothing sizes was expected and quite welcomed.  What I wasn't prepared for was going down 1/2 shoe size.  Went shoe shopping yesterday and now wear a 6.  Have a closet full of 6 1/2 shoes.  For the time being, I'm going to wear thicker hosiery/socks to make up for the loose fit.  Will gradually introduce the 6 as the budget allows.

My question is:  has anyone tried the heel cushions made esp for slippage?  My heels are constantly slipping off the edge of my shoes.   I would think the inserts would eventually cause blisters.  To compound the issue, I wear a narrow.  Even narrows don't avoid my heels from slipping.

Your recs, pls.

I've tried them and the verdict is that sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. It really depends on the overall fit and style of the shoe. If the shoe is a close fit, they will often work, but sometimes the gap is too large and can't be bridged by a cushion. I've never had one cause a blister - the only negative outcome I've had is that they just didn't work in a particular pair of shoes because the gap was too large.

I've also had better luck with name brand cushions over the store brands and better luck with the opaque ones versus the clear gels. The store brand pads don't seem to stick as well and the gel ones also seem to peel off more easily.

I use the Foot Petals inserts and mini inserts in all of my shoes. Works well for my heels and the edge of my toe area. I found mine on HSN but I think they have them at Kohls, BBB and elsewhere.

I've also used Footpetals.  Often when in losing weight, the feet are affected.

You could also use a foam liner.  Foot Smart dot com has all kinds of solutions for issues with feet and shoes.

Weird I am down 17 lbs since April & still wear an 8 shoe.  I have tried the heel cushions and they do work.

@pommom  No, but when a pr. of shoes became loose, I’ve inserted full padded inner soles. Those seemed to work.
