Keep in mind that if the bag is less than perfect you should tell QVC they have to pay for the return. It's my understanding if you just don't want it, you pay. But you should not pay when the item is defective. Smears and large paint spots are defects in my opinion.

I read a review about another item today where a person complained that an item was defective and she was irritated she had to pay for the shipping. BUT SHE SHOULDN'T. QVC will pay if you call them and tell them the problem. They may even pay if you mark the return slip as DEFECTIVE, without having to make a call. And if more of us complain about that and they have to pay for the return shipping maybe it will become more cost effective for them to have better quality control Smiley Wink

Reminder to those doing returns, if you can fit multiple items into one box you can save yourself some shipping expense. A while back someone mentioned that she didn't know she could send things back together! Don't make that same mistake Smiley Wink

I just received my natural ostrich GILI today, it's going back Monday. It looks horrible, big huge spots about the size of a pencil eraser, looks almost like polka dots...then there's the smears, so obvious! Why did they even bother to pack a bag like this...it so ridiculous.

I did get the grey ostrich a few days back, while it's not grey, I love the color and it's in perfect condition otherwise.

I think this is the reason I took my ostrich out of the cart and replaced it with the brown snake. I remember reading some of the reviews re. the smeared paint on past ostrich bags. There's NO excuse for this. Are you planning to ask for a replacement, Bluegrass?

No, I don't want someone else's trouble, just keeping the grey. You know, I knew about all the trouble and it was in the back of my mind when I ordered, but stupidity prevailed.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Well, I know that can happen. These two GILI bags were my first, and I recall all of the terrible reviews about the ostrich paint issue. This just shouldn't happen. I can't tell you how many D&B bags I have purchased from Q through the years - and I have NEVER had to send any of them back. They have always been absolute perfection. So sorry that you need to return, but I hope you will find something else. Smiley Happy

I read several threads about the streaks and spots (mainly on the grey) and I don't disbelieve it, even though mine has no streaks and the ostrich feather spots are simply impressed on the leather. I suspect they had batch problems as it was a large order. They might have ordered a second batch when the early sales showed high interest. And if those were rushed, the quality may not have been there.

A shame, as returns are costly and annoying.

Interesting point Campion, I ordered my grey ostrich Sunday night and they sold out soon after. I think I had one of the rushed batch ones. My bag had big black circles painted over the entire embossed area. It looked ridiculous really. Also it did have light smears on one entire side. Just overall an ugly bag sorry to say. I love a friends ostrich Roma 2 which had really natural looking colorations of the dots. Oh well, and life goes on. Have a great day everyone!
