I had Polio as a child and wear a brace.  I have a challenge when it comes to shoes, but Clark's have done the trick.  I can't wear all the styles but have found many that will fit my brace.  Thank you.  I am sure this is not wat you had in mind when you designed your shoe but I just wanted to shout out to other Polio survivors or persons that have to wear braces, etc.  to try Clark's Shoes.  Reasonable priced and very comfortable.

I have read the many complaints from others about Clarks, but I have to say, I love all my Clarks and have none of the issues that are posted. I also take good care of my shoes.

@Ngam,  My brother was a victim of Polio.  He was 7 years old and I was in my mom's belly.  When he woke up in the a.m. my mother called for him to get up and he said he can't.  My mom goes in the bedroom and my brother was paralyzed from the waist down. My mother put him on her back and carried him down 3 flights of stairs.   He was immediately taken to the hospital and everything was saved but one leg.  He wore a brace but my mother and father took my brother to Shriners Hospital in Chicago where he had surgery by a Dr. Miller (he was the best).  The brace is gone and he was able to play baseball.  He has a slight limp and his leg has lost all of it's muscle but that Dr. performed a miracle for my brother.  He always had to buy two pairs of shoes as his feet were different sizes.  I am so happy for you that Clarks work out for you.  That's all I wear.  I want comfort and style but comfort comes first.  I wish you the best.  This happened to my brother over 60 years ago.  Take care.  HeartCat Very Happy

@AmericanBulldogMom,  A few years ago, I could wear any Clarks but last couple of years I have had problems with sizing in the width.  I wear a wide and some of the shoes are nowhere near a wide.  I purchased clogs this year and they fit so I was happy.  I think it has a lot to do on where they are made but if your foot is on the narrow side or you are a true medium you probably do not encounter problems.

@Katcat1 The width could very well be a factor then and is why they usually fit me so well, as I have long narrower feet and find many shoes to be too wide. I never put on a Clarks shoe and had it be too wide.

I have many pairs of Clarks - I wear 7 wide - and find their shoes are very comfy. A few years ago, they changed "the last" - it's not ur imagination. I read an article about that. Most people buy their shoes on-line now - and they mostly returned shoes because they were too tight. So - Clarks (and probably other companies) started to make the shoes larger.

I have way too many pairs of shoes - so I'm done. But - buying Clarks on-line would be difficult. A couple of months ago, I bought a pair of Clarks on QVC and another pair on clarksusa dot com - and I had to return both pairs.
