For me, the smaller bags are rather pointless and crossbody bags need not apply... I prefer larger bags. I most certainly don't always need or want to carry a luggage size bag, but if I had to decide between a too large bag and one that is essentially the size of a glorified cosmetic case, well, I'll go big or go home! We all like what we like. That's why there are so many options.

Depends on the whole look you are going for. It has be in proportion to my outfit. I look in the mirror to decide. Dinky bags don't look good on me. I'm tall. I like totes, but don't have any really, really big bags yet.....

A lot of women carry computers around in their handbags. I don't. I'm also ""maybe"" five feet tall. I can't find ANYTHING in the medium-size handbag range lately.

I don't know what people carry around with them. I have a tiny wallet, some kleenex, MAYBE a lipstick or a compact (maybe. . . ), an ink pen, glasses, and some Motrin in foil packets, a few hand wipes, and that's about it. What on earth do you need to lug around to get through the day?

I don't carry more than a small to small/medium bag ever.

I go back and forth between small bags and cross body bags and large bags. As already said, we are all different and to each his own. But what bugs me is when others make fun of my big bag and then ask me to carry things for them!

Also, I realize you don't need a suitcase for the necessities but I think woman look silly carrying a bunch of items in their hands, like a large, overly stuffed wallet, a smart phone, keys, sunglasses, you name it. I know people who do it and if that's what they like, fine. I would be more frustrated dropping things and not having any free hands than if I carry one large bag and hide it all inside.
