"I don't understand the need to carry a handbag that 2-3 times the size of a diaper bag."<br /> <br /> That's cool. I don't understand the need for some people to create threads about how they don't understand what others are doing in terms of fashion, food, etc., as a way to tear others down.

I always am drawn to the looks of large bags, but I know I just don't carry enough to get one. I'd be carrying a pretty much empty bag.

This is no different than carrying a d&b tote which I do during many summer days. Really depends on what I'm doing and my clothing/attire. Look at the pricing for some of the d&b totes. And that high pricing is due to marketing costs plus to get the d&b logo. You pay more for coated cotton totes than the Roma2-100% leather. True, leather is heavier than coated cotton, so you do need to consider this fact. If you only like small bags, than this one is not for you! It's a personal choice. No need to question or slam anyone's choice.

Some women just like carrying the oversized bags. I can't take the weight any more. I pretty much try to travel light these days & just carry necessities: wallet, checkbook (yes, I still use one), a small notepad & pen, sunglasses, cell phone, comb. Maybe some tissues if I'm sniffling for any reason. That's it. I keep OTC meds - Aleve, aspirin, eye lubricant - in desk at work & of course have those supplies at home.

I suppose some women carry extra makeup, hair tools, shoes, etc. if they know they're going to need them while they're away from home. Fine for them if they can stand the weight. I just hope they don't wind up with back and/or shoulder problems in the future.
