It depends on your lifestyle and your. Your body type. If you live in a large urban area and don't have a car, guess what? You need a big bag to schlep your stuff in. Likewise, if you are a young mom.

Smaller bags are great, too. For going to the store. And no, they aren't little girl bags as some would tell you.

Little old lady types don't need to carry the suitcases.

It doesn't suit their lifestyle and it would overwhelm them. Someone who is 80 years old and 5 feet tall, that's not your bag. Obviously. You're going to buy the one that suits you. And there's plenty out there to choose from.

I'm just happy we all don't have to carry the same bag or even the same sized bag. Same with clothing. We are fortunate to have choices. And I'm fortunate I haveno teens in house complaining about my sense of style. Ignorance is bliss ....

I carry crossbodies because they are convenient for me, and I don't like to worry about setting a bag down in a shopping cart or the store counter or even at a restaurant, etc. I see women do this all the time. Wouldn't take much for someone to grab their purse and walk off.

Different strokes, for different folks...

Exactly! I personally don't like those small, tiny bags. Makes me feel and look like I'm a toddler. Not everything is for everyone. That's what makes this world so special.

I cannot stand those tiny "baguette" bags. I can't fit my wallet, let alone my sunglasses or keys in one of those.

I like little leather bags. For everyday I take a real "bag" with me. Not a handbag but a real plastic bag. Quite wide. Big enough for a non folding umbrella. I carry my lunch, a drink, wallet, tablet (I have an 11" one) It's a great bag. I got it at a library conference. There are three mesh pockets on the front. I keep my cell phone in one of them. It zips across. Today we had torrential rain. My stuff was nice and dry on the way to work on the university shuttle. And the weight is only what you carry.

All it takes is one time for someone to need lotion, sunscreen, crackers, baby wipes, contact lens solution, or bug spray to feel like freaking hero.

And I carry toilet paper.

You go girl! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Who has carried the same bag for months or even years? It has to be a large one and what do you carry in it?

"I don't understand the need to carry a handbag that 2-3 times the size of a diaper bag."

That's cool. I don't understand the need for some people to create threads about how they don't understand what others are doing in terms of fashion, food, etc., as a way to tear others down.
