Is it just me, or have shoes gotten uglier and just ugly. I know comfort is important, but I have some very nice and modern shoes that look great and are comfortable.

I was just thinking the same thing!  Haven't watched an entire presentation lately but just channel surfing I've been very surprised at the offerings. I thought it was just me but I've not seen anything I'd want to try on no matter how good they may feel. Yuck!

Over the summer I was sick with Covid for two weeks then once I started to feel better I hurt my foot for another few weeks and could barely walk.  I spent a lot of time on YouTube watching all sorts of videos.

Some were about what shoe looks will be in and trending for fall of 2024...

What is going to be big:

Pointy toes , square toes, flats, kitten heels, sling backs, high boots to the knees. Round toe shoes will be out.

I like of looks of some of these but I have bad feet (i;m seeing a doctor on Thursday about my foot issue) so I don't think I'll be wearing any of these....I prefer a good supportive sneaker as the weather gets cooler.

Yes they are very clumsy-looking and very ugly. The Clark's shoes that I saw today have no arch support.  In order to have an arch support the insole should be higher in the middle to meet the arch on ther foot.  If I remember the woman selling Clarks was a former Earth Origins salesperson  and she should know that.

Well, of course, it depends from person to person, but I agree with you. I’m more of a classic person, so I like older shoes, but I can also see the beauty in some modern shoes. Though I don’t find them to be the best looking, they are okay. But like you said, at least they are more comfortable, unlike some heels

I only wear sneakers or cowboy boots and a few lower ankle boots. I don't go anywhere that needs anything else. I go for comfort over style but I still want something that looks decent and not orthopedic. I haven't worn heels in decades. I only wear flats because I'm to much of a klutz.

@sunnygirl 007.  They've been ugly for some time; thick lug soles, clunky heels, high, thick wedges.  Nothing feminine about today's shoes.  Many look like boot-camp combat boots.

If you really look you can buy feminine looking shoes or boots that are not ugly. I tend to gravitate towards Nordstrom or Zappos when I need shoes since they have a large selection l like rockport when I need heels. They have a heel that is called total motion and feels like you are wearing a sneaker.

The models have the cutest shoes......like Brenda, etc.

Q doesn't offer/sell those.  Q gets the clunkers.

@Kachina624   When I saw the TSV of that Clark's shoe, I was unpleasantly surprised.  I'll just leave it at that.

Also, I still can't wrap my head about them letting Amy Oselkin go and replacing her with the new gal.

Amy was a great asset to the company but I hesitate to recall her ever presenting a shoe like the one that was featured a few days ago.

So, maybe Clark's is morphing into  trying to appeal to a different demographic.
