one ofmy neighbors just broughtme a starter.  i plan to dry it and then when i want, i can make sour doughbread.

I've always kept starter in the refrigerator. Never heard of "drying" it.

My dh was recently given some sour dough from a friend. We don't think it has much sour flavor at all.With anything he has made. Is there a way or some j ingredient to add to up the sourness??

So have I.  I will be interested to read about the OP's process of "drying out".

i will place it on a piece of parchment and then just letit air dry until rock hard.  then i will peel it off and place it in a bag.

 

when i want to use it , i will mix a bit with warm water and let it rehydrate and then fed it and use it for bread.
