I have never seen Butter Pecan Cake Mix anywhere! I'm lucky if I can find anything besides yellow and chocolate!!

I am going to keep my eyes open because both recipes sound delicious!

You are welcome RespectLife...so glad I could help out. If you do find a cake mix, you might want to pick up two and try out this coffee cake. I have shared it on here before. Really good. Don't remember for sure but think the cake mix is Betty Crocker. Don't have one on hand at this time to check.

BUTTER PECAN COFFEE CAKE By: JPC

Coffee Cake
1 - Box Butter Pecan Cake Mix
1 - Small Pkg Instant Cheesecake Pudding
4 - Eggs
1/2 - Cup Oil
1 - Cup Water
1/3 - Cup Sour Cream


Topping
1/3 - Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 - Cup White Sugar
1 - tsp Cinnamon
1/2 - Cup Chopped Pecans

Mix Coffee Cake ingredients well and put 1/2 of the batter into a 9 X 13 greased pan.
Sprinkle with 1/2 of the topping mix and cover with remaining batter and rest of topping.
Bake 35 minutes in 350 degree oven

I copied this recipe because I really wanted to try the Butter Pecan recipe. I searched all over but the only cake mix I could find was online and it would have cost me $10 to have ONE box shipped to me. Or I had to buy a lot of six packages, so I gave up on that.

So, I got a box of Spice Cake Mix, used the coconut pudding mix and followed the recipe above adding 1 cup of chopped walnuts and 3/4 cup of dried cranberries. Spectacular! My husband loved it and said it was much better then what we get at Starbucks. Moist and delicious.

I can see all kinds of different combinations that are possible with this recipe. It is sooooo simple and sooooo good. Thanks ladies!

We don't have a Walmart close to us. Today my daughter and I are going shopping where there is a Super Walmart and I am definitely going to check there. We are in California and I have heard that this particular item is a southern thing. Thanks for your reply. I really do want to try the Butter Pecan.

I do hope you find it. It's not a southern item, though, since most grocery stores in Ohio carry it.

I really would like to make this and I was able to find the cake mix, but I have been to 2 stores and can't find the instant coconut pudding. Does anyone know if Walmart carries it? If I can't find it, would vanilla work? TIA
