Re: What are your favorite Xmas cookies?

My dear mother's oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies! They are a family recipe and they are my absolute favorite. I am blessed to still have my mother with me and we enjoy making these at Christmas and reminiscing about past Christmases while we bake and sample the cookies ❤️

My mom made something called meringue bars--had a shortbread base with choc chips/nuts over that and then a brown sugar meringue on top ---were so yummy. I haven't made them in years tho. I like most cookies---don't ever make them and don't really eat many either.

Probably peanut blossoms or thin cutouts with sugared crystals.  I also like nut horns.

Not necessarily a Christmas cookie, I could eat these all year round, but I like these with a cup of hot cocoa on X-mas morning.  My late mother-in-law used to make a batch and send to us around the holidays, so good!

@cusegirl .  I have to say that your chocolate balls sounds good.  Mine are Russian Tea cakes and Land O Lakes Butter cookies.  I follow their old fashion recipe.  Will start to bake next werk.  I also promised my grandson that I would bake his favorite, Banana Bread.

Re: What are your favorite Xmas cookies?

Snowball cookies for me. I only make them just once or twice a year, as I can't resist them. They've been a holiday staple in my house since I was a toddler. My mom used to make them and give them to one of your neighbors, Mrs. Rascher (now deceased) who would then ask for the recipe. She'd then make them herself using oleo instead of butter, and then accuse my mom of giving her the incomplete recipe or holding back a step, as hers didn't turn out the same. She was convinced her oleo was as good as butter for baking, and it wasn't.

To me, kindness is one of, if not the most important quality a human can have.
