We just purchased a Traeger smoker grill. Anyone else have one? Favorite recipes?

I have a Louisianna Pellet smoker which cooks the same way.  I have smoked ribs, turkeys, beef brisket, and use it to bbq with also.  On mine I had to tweek the temp setting alittle,  when I set the digital reading I originally put a thermometer in it to see if the temp was accurate, so now I know to set my temp 15 degrees higher to acheive my smoking temp of 225 degrees.  I love the pellet smoker and buy all different flavors of pellets.  When I smoke pork ribs I like to use the 3,2,1, method.  I put a dry rub on the ribs and smoke on the rack for 3 hours, then take them off and wrap them in foil and pour  a little apple juice inside the foil and smoke 2 more hours amd then take them out of the foil and lay back on open rack, brush some bbq sauce on them and cook about 30 min to 1hr more.  They are so good.

Hello, from a fellow Traeger owner. We absolutely love our Traeger and couldn't imagine not having one at this point. I think your going to love yours also. Like hayseed0 mentioned , I also like to do the 3,2,1 ribs. They come out beautifully . My method is very similar hers. Also, Checkout the recipe book that came with the Traeger. I've made the brownies and chocolate chip cookies out of it and have been impressed with the turnout. I used pecan pellets when I cooked the cookies and it gave a nice mild pecan taste to them. You can pretty much use any of your favorite recipes, you'll just need to tweak cooking times a bit.

If you haven't already, go to traegergrills.com , click on the recipes section in that bad boy. There's some crazy good looking stuff in there. Just typing this made me look through it again and I now have my sights on making the cherry bourbon pie.

I know I haven't given you any specific recipes. I guess I just wanted to let you know that there are endless possibilities when cooking with this. Even the pizza is great! My suggestion is to try all types of things (meats , desserts, veggies, hot dips, casseroles, breakfast) and just have fun. Smiley Happy
