Unsticking sauce is DH's biggest complaint. Personally I don't care, but I'll try not rinsing it next time. I always have because the leftover pasta in the colander turns into a big sticky blob. I always make enough for two meals.

I only rinse pasta for a cold salad.

I only cook with brown rice pasta or the occasional lentil pasta. If I didn't rinse, it would be one big gummy ball of glue.

@depglass - I also often prepare more pasta than I need for one meal—when you do that, prepare or serve what you're going to eat on the initial night without rinsing, and then rinse and shake dry the remaining pasta before you store it so it won't clump together. It may dry out a bit in the refrigerator, but when you reheat it and apply sauce for the next meal, it should be fine. Good luck!

I always rinse. I hate a very starchy pasta. Rinse, rinse, rinse for a healthier pasta!!

Never rinsed pasta for a hot dish or to make a cold pasta salad.
