Tootie, those apples sound good.  We are planning our Fall weekend with apple picking in a couple of weeks.  I'll look for those apples.  Usually the orchard directs you to certain areas...different apples for picking every weekend.  

Glad you got your Fall decorations out.  Weather is definitely Fallish here today...cloudy, chilly and windy.

I got my errands done today....in and out each place.  Dress has been returned.  Almost hated to return it but the $150 credit did look good...ha.  Why let something that expensive just hang in the closet waiting for an occasion.

THEN....did I tell you my knife slipped at dinner Saturday night and splattered gravy on my dress??? UGH!  Call me Grace!  I was able to dab it with water to get through the evening.  But, back to the cleaners today....😂.  Lady said "I remember the dress...were sleeves ok?"  I said "yes..perfect....but, here I am again with gravy spots"...oh well!  Excellent dry cleaner so they'll get it out.

DD took GS plus 2 of 3A's to Milwaukee, Wisconsin today to look at a college there.  I guess they all liked it....Marquette University.👍  Our oldest son graduate from there and DD's brother-in-law also ....he lives in area and met the group for touring.  Third of the amigos did not go because they do not offer program he wants...meteorology (sp?).  Big year for decision making for the guys.  They are looking at other schools too.

I ended up putting my outdoor decorations out ... the sun came out and it was quite pleasant ... I'm ready for Fall! 🌻🎃🍁🍂 ... no plans for today! although we have to think about cutting down my brown eyed susans ... they are just about done now!

It definitely feels like Fall....chilly....if it gets much cooler my summer flowers will be done too.  Time to clean the deck...put away grill....😫....NOT YET!  We still have more time for grilling! 🤞

Funny about my "weather guy" GS...he loves studying weather....might want to be a storm chaser...😳.  I said maybe I will see him on TV as my local weather guy.  He says no to that....ha.  

No news in my world....guess it will be a putzing-type of day....thinking about switching clothes out.

Good evening 

I am home with my feet up.  Whirlwind day. I definitely needed those skates. Brother arrived at 7:45. Off to first appointment. He had difficultly finding the parking garage. Finally arrived.  First doctor visit. He ordered two additional appointments. One scheduled for next month when brother is here other appointment needs to be scheduled.  Then we grabbed a bite. Sat on patio people watching until time for next appointment.  Arrived. I needed labs.  No problem lab next door.  Well there was a snafu there.  Not available. Back to 9th floor to other lab. Closed for lunch. Not the time posted on signage. So brother says we will go to another lab.  Across town. Get there. No they can't help me as I am not their patient. Okay. Across the street to lab at hospital.  Get there brother goes to check it out. It is a long walk. He will get the car and drive closer. No I do not want to get back in car unless I am going home!  Couldn't find vein then only a spurt on other arm. Finally my hand.  I was over it by then. So brother goes to get the car and we finally head home.  I told him it was his day to drive Ms Daisy around.  He dropped me off and went to park.  Came in wrote some checks and called to resolve an issue .  He had a long day also as he is dealing with his back issues.  Tomorrow is to be determined. Then he heads home.  Quick trip this round.  They will be back in October. They have a church event and then I have some scheduled appointments. 

Tootie:  your apples sound yummy. I also hadn't heard of two of them.

Walker:  oh a weather guy.  I can't imagine storm chasing. Happy to watch from home!  

Maybe you will have students together!  Lots of decisions to make.

kittyfan, wow!! your go, go, go made me dizzy this morning! ... you were on what I call a "wild goose chase" for your labs ... I'll never understand why medical places have to close for lunch ... I know people need to eat but why not stagger the lunch time for employees?! ... and then issues with the draw! ugh, I don't blame you for wanting to get home!! ... I bet you slept good 🤞

yes walker, we do (or should) have more time to grill ... we try to get our propane tank just about empty so we don't have to struggle when we "roll back the grill" 😄😂

We got a cute surprise last night ... DIL sent a video of BG reading a bedtime story to them!! he did pretty good and he was so proud!!  🥲🥲 ... no set plans today.

A childhood milestone....reading!  Cute to hear about BG, Tootie!  Since Halloween is coming....did I mention a favorite children's book to you.....The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything?  Fun story...I think..😉.

No news here....DH heading out to the lake for the day....get the mower running...😆......so, I better get him out the door.  By the way, our lawn is still not up to his standards....ha...but it is green.  He put some fast growing rye seed down in spots. Good enough for this year I guess.   With all the rain we have had, it has been growing like crazy...need a goat!

Oh yes the fellas and the lawn.  Last visit brother drove us by the old neighborhood. Of course he commented on the lawn!  It was not up to his standards!

Yes the grill is easier to move without the weight. Hopefully your weather will allow more grills   I think about Cookie and her master griller SIL.  

We had a five minute shower. Weather folks say temps will break soon.  It is the end of September and time for a break.

walker, thanks for telling me about that book (cute story) ... I had an errand to run and stopped at Target and picked that one up and another,  Room on the Broom ... the kids are bowling again this year so I brought them to them yesterday ... BG was excited to read them! ... ugh, DH's lawn is not cooperating with him!! ... he'll have all winter long to plan out a strategy to get it up to his standards 😉 (and he sounds a lot like my DH, so it will bug him until it does!!)

Chilly morning but we are expecting full sunshine with a high of 68! these cold and dark mornings make it tough to get going, but ...

kittyfan, we do still miss cookie and her stories....grilling which made us all hungry, the Longhorns...her nail appointments...😟.  Soon your weather will be better and we will be bundling up. 🥶

I forgot about your chair repair, Tootie.  Hopefully, repairman shows up this time!   Should be an easy repair.

You know....I think I might be happy for snow so I can quit hearing DH talk about his lawn.....or neighbors whose lawn needs help too....😂.  YIKES....what did I say? 😳☃️??

Yes we all miss Cookie and her stories.  

I love to see the littles getting into reading and sharing their joy.  I remember one day at the TS a lady came in saying her 8 YO grand didn't read.  I thought how sad. Our book guru was a retired elementary teacher. She was a wealth of knowledge about all genres.  Do miss some aspects of the TS.

Last night got a call from brothers DW. She chatted for almost an hour.  She said the dog had been out for her 10 pm last call and had gone to bed.  She loves to be around so when I visit they move her bed to the room we are in. She will cover herself up with her blanket but she has one ear tuned to the action.  I have blanket dogs also but I enjoy watching her.

This morning I woke up to a text from brother. Be ready to roll.  He picks me up first stop a much needed haircut. She cut a lot of.  But I was okay with it,   the stylist asked if that was my "driver" I said no my brother. She asked if I bossed him around. I said no he tells me what to do!  We left there and headed to the house. It was lovely to enjoy the solitude.  He buzzed around taking care of some things. We needed to be back in town to meet someone. I thought he would take me home first but no he left me in the vehicle. It wasn't too bad and he wasn't that long.  Then he stopped at PO and he took me home. We were able to schedule an appointment for a procedure. First option was 7:30. No to that. 1:00 I can do!   

We have now scheduled everything we needed from last Drs visit.  Of the joy of aging. Hoops and hoops   three appointments to complete.

It was so dry and brown in the country.  We definitely need rain.   And a break in our temps would be nice also.   

I am closing the kitchen. ☕
