Good Morning Friends!  ☕️☁️🇺🇸...🦃

Happy Wednesday!  We won't be seeing any sunshine for a few days.  Weather report shows ...cloudy, cloudy, cloudy.....that's ok....as long as no rain...yesterday was that miserable misty rain with bit of fog.  DH asked if I was going for a walk...🙄....umm...duh...NO!  I'm not that dedicated...ha!

Enjoy your sunny day, Tootie.  It will energize you 😉...to make your menu/shopping list out.  We are going to be with DIL's family.  I need to ask what my assignment is for the feast.

Next up....get organized for Christmas...ugh....gift stress..ha.  Tootie...I just saw a news segment about The Elf on the Shelf...20 year celebration....my grandkids all had one....do BG and LS?  I can remember my kids saying they(well, moms)  woke up in middle of the night and thought...🙀...I forgot to move the elf! 😂

kittyfan, always good to hear from you ...stay well...DB too!  Work....REST....Work...REST!  Maybe he needs some new pjs or loungewear for Christmas as a hint...ha!

🎄🎄. Christmas shopping!   I told brother his DW needed some pajama days also.  She also has lots of projects. 

My counter is being replaced. I will have to wait for brother to put things back in place. At the moment the old counter is gone and the new counter is somewhere. Yesterday I looked out to see two of the maintenance workers on the roof with a blower. Okay with my height anxiety I was uncomfortable for them. Then I remembered an incident a few weeks ago.  It was mis morning. I was in the bedroom and heard a scratching type noise. Well I am thinking I have a creature in the wall.  It quit and I didn't report it. I am thinking they already have me on a list!  Brother doesn't have a problem addressing issues. Well now I am thinking they were probably on the roof doing whatever.  I have lived alone in the country and had issues so I am usually not easily frightened.   Brother is helping three new widows navigate through. Some of the things he tells me I am amazed. They don't have any idea about what bills need to be paid etc. One didn't even know there was a mortgage.  I think this one thought all obligations would disappear but that isn't the way it goes 

I told him these are all ladies of a certain age who should have a clue.  

They are telling us some possible heavy rains. I am okay with rain. No snow!!! ❄️ ❄️

Good morning friends ... kittyfan, hope you get your counter in place today! (laughed at your comment about it being "somewhere" 😄) ... gosh, it's a good thing that the scratching sound was the leaf blower and not critters in your wall!! ... some of those blowers can be really loud and powerful ... sometimes we can hear the pitter patter of birds crawling in the gutters looking for food.

walker, yes the kids do have The Elf on the Shelf ... they love wondering where he'll be when they get up ... I got my menu/list all set ... I saw your recipe for Petite Cheesecakes and we are going to make those for Christmas ... easy and they sound so good!! 

Another mild 45 degree day ... and go figure! the leaf truck came back down yesterday before anyone had a chance to get more leaves to the street! ... you wait and wait for the truck, it finally comes and then it comes down again!! 😕

kittyfan, I hope things are in order there now.  Getting something new is always nice.  I see lots of rain in your area.  Stay in and stay dry.

Your leaf service is better than ours, Tootie.  Our leaves are still waiting pick up which drives DH nuts....not good for the grass...HA!  They always say not to put leaves in street so on grass at curb they go! 🤷‍♀️ I remember growing up everyone raked leaves to end of driveway and burned them.  It was fun.....but, can't do that anymore.

I hope you like those cheesecakes when you try them, Tootie.  There are several recipes online that are similar but say to use crushed vanilla wafers or Graham crackers for crust.  Why? One vanilla wafer in bottom is much easier!

Hi there......Tootie, no mini muffin tins....regular tins.  I have seen online recipes which use mini tins but not mine.  And, I am wondering, as companies tend to be "downsizing" products, if the vanilla wafers will be regular size to fit muffin tin or smaller.  Guess I should buy some and find out.  I changed bake time to 20-25 minutes...afraid 30 minutes might be too long.  You just have to keep an eye on them.

Hello ... just finished cleaning up after dinner ... the kitchen is closed for the night ... 

Thanks walker ... I'm pretty sure those vanilla wafers should fit in the liners .. (remembering from when I had those for the kids ...) I know they have mini vanilla wafers and I have also bought those for the kids and they are teenie tiny ... we already have too many desserts for Thanksgiving but we are for sure making those for Christmas ... or before 😉

I will be on later than usual in the morning ... I have early blood work for my physical in a couple weeks and I talked DH into going out to breakfast ... might as well, I'll already be out!! 😄😂

I'm glad you asked about the muffin tins, Tootie.  Now that I see online recipes for using the minis, I clarified it on my original post.  

Good luck with bloodwork tomorrow!  Hope it gives you a good report for your upcoming physical.  Good move....breakfast after....👍.

I made a Chicken Pot Pie tonight...yum, comfort food to me.  I use a recipe that was from Mark Charles Miselli who is not on Q anymore...😟.  The other night I fixed a Lasagna Soup recipe....something was missing...but ok...DH is such a good Guinea pig....🤣.

I went to the laundry room. To my dismay the new washer was out of order.  I really like it.  When I turned around the only working dryer was out of order. There are other laundry rooms but it is most convenient.  I had already started the working washer.  I do have linens but they can wait.  Brother has had washer woes. They had it repaired only a few weeks ago. Out again.  He said he went to his son's to do laundry. Beats the laundromat!!

Well the rains hit hard in our area. Flooding but not close to me. They are still predicting rain here. I talked to brother earlier. He and I agreed we need rain at my house. He still has visions of a city lawn in the country!  He has had trees taken out and that needed to be done. 

Oh the cheesecakes sound lovely.  Yes I remember mark charles b there are vendors and hosts I did not enjoy but I rarely watch the Q.

Brother had written the check for one tax. I check my account daily. I had a shock when I saw the balance. Then I looked yep tax time. He told me the total but I said I had to pay it regardless.  End of the year is $$$.

Tootie. Breakfast out is a plan.  

M:  milk and cookies.  My dad's evening routine was milk and graham crackers. Was remembering him the other day.  He loved Christmas.  Brother said he would put some lights on the patio.  Will see!
