Busy TS saga. Yesterday went after church. Spent three hours doing tasks.

Today walked in the door to learn that the church had to leave. Apparently they had an event on Saturday. T hen they tested positive as it turns out their was only one affected. But only two folks dlrsnt get the job done. So we were scrambling to cover our bases. Argh. The coordinator for the church is already out. She got Good fro her son. I understand the person who left had been there only a short period of time. They sprayed down the area ehrre she had been

On the topic of Christmas services. I am thinking no. If I didn't have altar duties I would not participate.

I understand the day care at church is closed again due to Covid. I heard this st TS. Not at church. Not good. We need to know

One bright spot. One of our volunteers bought some decor items. All pieces but one had boxes. Sell she was disappointed as these were gifts. I was taking to someone and looked down. The box was tucked in a spot I never would have looked at. She was delighted.

Sorry about the church and the people affected kittyfan.  Yes you do need to know anything relevant to your health!  You sure were busy covering for others.  

Sad not to be able to enjoy Christmas Services at the churches.  I do remember attending some and they are beautiful.  Glad for the TV, but not the same.

We will be 75 today!  I'll have to get out my bikini!  Hahaha - never in a gazillion years, not even for $$$.   Just going to enjoy the day.  Maybe see one of these ~

kittyfan, oh no .. sorry to hear about the people getting sick at church ... I bet you do get a lot of nice decorations at the TS.

walker, glad you are getting your shopping done (even though we have to click, click, send) it's not the same as being in the store, but times are different now ... I still have a couple gift cards that I want to get but I'll have to go into the store ... luckily, my grocery store has all kinds ... I can go super early, grab and go!!

Our Christmas plans are up in the air (real high) right now ... (you'll see why as you keep reading ...)

 LG's birthday?? .... that's a sore spot ... a BIG one!! ... DS/DIL are having a joint party!! ugh! she has 10 on her side, we have 8 ... no way!! 18 people in one house? (and I have no idea who they have been around or where they go) gathered around a dining room table?? singing Happy Birthday?? and her family are big proponents of not wearing masks ... so, we (DH/DD and me) are not going ... heartbroken? yes!! but, I'm not risking getting sick. So, long story short ... DS/DIL are mad at us for not coming ... and I can't get it through their thick skulls that it is not OK to have that many people all together ... a short separate party? yes. but they don't want to hear it ... so now we are the bad guys and my week has not gone well ...

We'll have a sunny 36 degree day ... Have a good day ... pouring and passing.

Tootie, I understand your feelings about the big celebration for LG's birthday...NO!  Does not sound like a good decision and your DIL is a nurse!  Everyone I know who is in the medical field, especially,  is over-the-top cautious!!

I am sorry it has caused this upset for you. I would feel the same and not go. They should respect your feelings and say "ok, we will have you over separately"....and BEFORE the other family have been in house.  What a bummer...I can see how this will affect Christmas too.  🥴 Peace and Love, eh?  Oh, Joy!  Something will work out ...hope your DS/DIL rethink this situation.

Tootie, I am so sorry about the Christmas plans.  walker said it perfectly and I agree with her.  It will only be his first Christmas EVER!!  

I hope your DS and DIL think of you and your feelings.  I would be very worried about little LG and exposure!  Things WILL work out!!!  You have SCC on your side and in our thoughts.

Hi friends......no sun today and very chilly...30's...it's the season to move fast....get out...get home....stay warm.  I did my errands including a stop at the library.  Our library is closed but I had requested a book a few months ago..finally came in....so they offer curbside pick up.  You pull into a designated parking spot....call in....request book....and they bring it out....in a bag.  They ask...would you like it in the trunk, backseat or library bench in front? Ha!  I said....backseat.....out she comes....I lowered rear window....she dropped it on seat and away I went.  Works for me!!!   By the way, book is The Secret Life of Groceries by Benjamin Lorr.  I read about it here on forums.  Since I spend so much time in grocery store, may as well see what goes on......will let you know.

cookie, great I ! And, my bikini days are long gone.  The last time I had a "two-piece" on I was a few months pregnant with first son.  I think I looked like a baby whale.  I said to DH..."why did you let me out like that?"...HA!!!

Probably not that bad but last time I wore one anyway.

Well I am home for a while. Was at TS yesterday. Today received message a volunteer tested positive. I spoke to her. Walked behind her chair. We are closed until further notice.
I am thinking next year but not my decision.

So my best laid. Plans are on hold. Had planned to get together my Christmas wishes for Café. Deliver thid weekend bit will stay home.

Our numbers are very high. Predicted after holidays.

Have plenty of soup on hand.

Thanks ladies, I appreciate your thoughts ... things are still going slow with DS/DIL, but in time should blow over ... I failed to mention that the party is on the 12th because DIL has to work on the 19th (his actual birthday) ... so, my plan is (whether they are mad or not) we will go over on the 19th to see him and bring him his presents ...

walker, that's a great plan that the library has ... I love all the drive thru services ... so easy and safe!!

kittyfan, ugh! the volunteer with the virus is a little too close for comfort ... I hope you stay safe.

Good plan, Tootie!!!  Perfect for 19th anyway!  They can party away on 12th and you will see him on 19th...LG's Day!!!  Things have a way of working out for the best. DS/DIL will get over it.
