How do you make your strawberry shortcake?  

Do you use fresh, frozen or a combo of strawberries?  

Do you make fresh biscuits, store-bought sponge cakes, or pound cake?

Any special tweaks added?

My Mum always made it using a combo of fresh and frozen strawberries, making it sweet and juicy; serving it on homemade biscuits and freshly whipped cream.  Yummmm!

I bought fresh strawberries the other day for my sister and I to have for dessert. My sister picked some mulberries to mix in.  Bought the little cake cups. Back in the day when I still cooked/baked, I used to use the shortcake recipe on the Bisquick box.

I buy KFC biscuits and fresh berries.

I use fresh berries sprinkled with a generous amount of sugar.  I make the Bisquick biscuits following the package directions.  My special touch is making real whip cream to top the shortcake off by beating heavy cream with a touch of vanilla.

I am not a fan of pie crust.  I make my shortcake with Bisquick.  I always use fresh strawberries sweetened with sugar and use the juice that produces with milk.

Prefer  fresh berries   and some fresh berries macerated in sugar .

Prefer pound or sponge cake or angel food cake

      My favorite is fresh strawberries with a bit of sugar to juice them up, over a slice of Angel food cake.

    But the last time, I had no cake so we put them over Twinkies, which we bought.

     Kind of strange, I know, but actually quite good!  😁😁

Never heard of pie crust being used for strawberry shortcake.

How do I make it?  I make it as quickly to my piece and down it as fast as I can.  What a wonderful summer treat.
