YOU ladies are BAD....................I'm already researching new recipes to add to my favorites for the Holidays.

Hopefully everyone can remember and post their favorite cookie in the Recipe Forum for the Holidays.

@Mom2Dogs I hear you loud and clear!!!! I make them every year for my daughter at Christmas but I can never get them to turn out right. I have 3 different cookie presses. I finally started rolling them in a ball and flattening them with a drinking glass dipped in sugar. They are fine. Not as pretty but good. They taste the same. LOL

@RespectLife

That is different than the one I bought. I don't know how to post a pic, but it is the Mirro brand. The crank part is like an outdoor spigot. (hope that makes sense)

Vintage Mirro Cookie Press with 6 Designs

@cookinfreak

Is this the type you mean?

I am only finding the Mirro like above used on Amazon ranging from $50 to over $100

That is the one. I don't recall what I spent on mine, but I believe it was around $30. Still a little high, but it works so much better than ANYTHING else I had tried. (or at least my moms did. Haven't tried this one yet) I am going to try when it finally cools down in my area. My sis in law and her sister love spritz so they will get the first batch when I use it. They put the cookies in the freezer and like to eat them with coffee in the AM

@RespectLife  That is the cookie press I had decades ago. I worked perfectly. Somehow over the years I lost it. I have a Pampered Chef and a couple other brands. Actually I think the success is in the pan you use. The cookie has to stick to the pan as you press out the dough. Today's cookie sheets are all non stick. I have pulled out enough hair that I make them into balls now.

@KCDiva  I never thought to roll them into a ball...there are hand held cookie stamps....you could give the cookie a design using the stamp!  I might have to try that before trying the piping method.

Years ago the Longaberger company made cookie stamps.

Re: Spritz cookie

[ Edited ]

@Mom2Dogs  The last time I made these I was making myself nuts.  I have an old press...clear plastic with a red knob on top you turn.  Couldn't get it to work..the dough that came out looked bad..I had used it for years..Did I forget how to use it?

I went online to see what I could possibly doing wrong.  Article said make sure you don't lift the press till all the dough you want is on the pan...don't lift while dough is coming out.. Voila...it worked..perfect cookies...DW

I have one just like this.  Struggled with it for years.  Never worked worth a darn.
