I have a question about BBQ pork.i put a pork butt rst in crockpot at 6am.i set my crockpot on low for 8 hrs.rst is done,but not shredding easily.should I have cooked this for 10 hrs on low?it was probably 3 or 4 pounds

Yes, cook it longer. Meat, pork and beef especially, needs to be cooked long enough for the muscle fibers to relax and break down for you to be able to shred it. Chicken doesn’t need that much time.

did you have cooking liquid in the crock pot as well?

yes kittyloo I did.i put a can of dr pepper in crockpot.it smells wonderful in my kitchen.i seasoned it with ginger,garlic,chilli powder,onion salt and a dash of wiskey.i found this recipie online.

I will let you know.........what side would you pare with this?I thought a crisp salad,but need something else

@Luvsmyfam May sound silly but we have always liked applesauce or some baked apple with pork or maybe something with fruit? I think salad sounds good.

Coleslaw goes well with pulled pork.

@PinkyPetunia  The funny thing is, no one in my family can stand coleslaw! the only one who ever liked it was my mom!! DH, son, DIL and grandkids all dislike it. I know most people do like it.
