I have a new recipe for a Honey Beer Spice Cake. I cannot find Honey Beer anywhere. I tried Total Wine, Publix and Trader Joes. Any suggestions?

They sell it in the liquor store here.
Search online where to buy honey beer locally & see if you can find anything.

I just Googled a recipe and they recommended Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss beer. The Leinenkugel's website says it's a year-round beer, not seasonal. Google pointed me to Walmart, who has it listed on their site as being sold in stores only. You can visit their site and search for it and see if it's available at any of your local Walmart stores. Where I grew up, we never had a Walmart near us (I didn't see one until I moved to Texas), so if you don't have a Walmart, you can ask local Publix or the Total Wine place if they would be able to order some for you. It's possible they normally carry it, but the seasonal beers are taking up more space right now. There are a LOT of fall seasonal beers.

Thank you so much for all the help! Found it at Winn Dixie. Wish I could bake the cake for each one of you.

Me too! But I would love the recipe instead if you wouldn't mind posting it?

Makes one 9x13 cake
3 and 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
8 tablespoons unsalted butter-softened
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 and 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs- room temp
2/3 cup honey
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
1 12 ounce bottle honey beer
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x13 cake pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, pepper, allspice, and salt. Set aside.
Beat the butter and brown sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, honey, and orange juice until just combined. With the mixer on low speed-alternate adding the flour mixture and beer.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake until cake is golden and springy to the touch and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean- 30 to 35 minutes. Remove the cake from the oven, and let cool for 10 minutes. Turn cake onto a rack to cool completely.

Miami--have you made and eaten this cake? It really sounds good. I made an oatmeal stout choc cake for a birthday one year and it is to die for. Will save this recipe. What type of frosting would you use if any?

I have not made it. I think I would not use frosting- just a dusting of powdered sugar.
