I don't know what to do with a 5 lb. bag of russets!

All I can think of is a baked potato, but is there something else russets are good for?

I boil them in quarters (to cook faster). I add milk, butter, and lots of shredded cheddar  cheese. Smash it up, but not like mashed potatoes. Top with green onions or bacon bits.

I’d boil them up, mash them, add milk, plenty of butter, salt and pepper, their you have mashed potatoes for the freezer, Put in containers for servings! Great, you have mashed potatoes all done, I have some in the freezer right now!

I'd have a baked one every day.  Baked is my potato of choice.  I bake them "nekked" and until the skin is crispy!  LOL!!

Shred them and make hash browns

I make them oven roasted.  I cut them either in quarters lengthwise or in 4 to 6 large chunks Toss them with olive oil, salt & pepper, dried thyme, rosemary, granulated garlic (or powder) and granulated onion. Put them on a baking sheet, sprinkle with paprika and bake on 400 til tender (depends on thickness of potato).
