@dooBdoo, I knew you were the one who could explain how to get to the end of a thread and how to set it up!

Thanks, @kittymomNC!   There are other tweaks we can make to the settings, but those 2 tips usually are enough.   (Some of the personalized settings can get complicated.)

I wanted to add about the thread in general... I didn't know there were other concerns and don't know the history, but I hope everyone can work it out.    We have such good people here, and often I think if we could sort things out face-to-face we'd find common ground in an instant.

The duration of the thread in question has no bearing on my opinion of it. I thoroughly disagree, however, with the burying of recipes inside it. I know it’s not a private conversation, that anyone can read or participate and that the invitation to do such has been extended. Nonetheless, it must also be acknowledged that the perception is of a clique which, whether intentional or not, precludes the sharing of recipes.

My suggestion is to, by all means, continue the conversation, the friendship; but, in the future, make a point to create new threads for sharing recipes with everyone.

@IamMrsG. There are many friendship threads on this forum. From what I have seen, they welcome everyone. As far as being a clique (which they don't seem to be) and posting recipes, nothing here is against standards. Didn't you say this same thing on a previous friendship thread?

I'm so sorry about your kitteh, and the disturbing responses. I lost a cat to CRFmany moons ago and it just about broke my heart.

I also go to that cat thread when I want a lift and just pick a page at random and look at the cats and kittens. You'd think with four of my own, I'd have my fill, but a person can always use more felines. Especially the kind that stay on the page and don't need the litter box scooped or treats RIGHT NOW! ;-)

Familiarity, friendships online clickue-ish or not who cares?  Every board has it. Like minds tend to merge together. It's just like changing the channels, don't read it.   I tend to start from the last post and go forward in such threads. Sometimes I post and sometimes I don't.

@kittymomNC  Well-said!  :-)  I'm very sorry for the loss of your precious cat, and for your sad family issues.  I recently lost my beloved cat.  I've also had a relative battle some serious medical issues, which have (thankfully) improved a great deal.  Last year was super-crazy-hectic and stressful for my family and I, as it was for so many others.  When I could manage it, I came here to try to chill out.  There are a ton of really nice folks here.  The snarky, rude people, I just ignore; I like to think that they're just having a bad day/bad moment/ate a bad burrito from the local fast food place.  I also like to think that maybe one day, those negative Nellies/Normans will turn their frowns upside down, and start their own threads or add positive comments, valuing them as much as so many other posters here do.  Have a fab day, y'all.
