Question: do these have the same texture as donuts that are fried or store bought? I'm asking because cake mix bakes up really ""light"" and donuts typically have a more dense texture.

Blasted board - one error after another today!

chi59335 - because of the different proportion of ingredients as well as the higher baking temperature, these don't have the same texture as, say, a cupcake - they're more dense. In fact, I bought a cake donut last weekend at a shop, and I'd say the texture of these are similar.

I'm making orange donuts in a little while.

OK, I made some to take to the spay/neuter clinic, and the staff scarfed them down in no time - said they were great!

I call these Orange Creamsicle Donuts. I used the orange cake mix, and - since I was short on time - I got the orange colored vanilla frosting that came with sprinkles. There weren't enough sprinkles for all of them, so I did half with coconut.

I don't know why they look red - they're bright orange!

Like twocent said, why did I open this post? Everyone of your domuts look sooooooo scrumptious . No wonder they were scafed down.

I use Pillsbury's Sugar Free cake mix. Now I have to make some as soon as I order the pans.

I'm not a good cook or baker but even I can make these. Thanks so much for posting.

I kept passing this post by & finally opened it. YUM!!! They all look delish. I love Chocolate Cake Donuts but hardly ever eat them.
