@RespectLife @ChiliPepper actually I think I will make both tomorrow.  Believe it or not, I have never had a sweet potato with marshmallows (wasn't allowed in the house) so I think I'll do half of the potato with Chili's recipe and the other half with the marshmallows . . . hmmmm, maybe I need to do this NOW . . . . Hey mtc, I'm not a huge fan of marshmallows (weird I know) so let us know how you like them.

I'm thinking warm, gooey marshmallows on the sweet potatoes are better than chewy, marshmallow squares out of the bag LOL!!!

YEAH ANOTHER BILLS FAN!  @ChiliPepper

I guess since you are in the middle of the state...you could go either way.  Join the throng of sad Bills fans...or switch to one of the other two football teams with 'New York' in their name...even though they are phoney NY teams and play in Jersey!!  LOL

@RespectLife

Nope, they don't count as N.Y. teams IMO! NY teams PLAY in & support N.Y. IMO!!!

Oh that is hysterical!  My eyebrows in the morning!  I'm bored, so I am going to check out that thread.

@momtochloe

If anybody showed up at Thanksgiving w/ marsh on the sweet pots...my Dad would have thrown that dish right out the back door!  Forbidden!!  LOL

DH side is the ones who thought SWEET pots weren't SWEET enuf and needed gobs of marsh, brown sugar and honey all over them.  The first time I tried my MIL, I nearly gagged from the sugar rush!

My mom and I always hosted every holiday and woe be it if we did not have sweet potatoes (we always made ours in a brown sugar/butter sauce).  I did ask if we could try marshmallows like my friends had but the answer was always a cold stare from the entire family . . . I look forward to trying this tomorrow!

Good morning

Today is my meeting day.  It starts earlier now because my noon meeting was set in the Mountain time zone and in a zone that doesn't adjust for DST.

I learn something new every day!

Good morning VaBelle! . . . this reminds me of the old SNL joke "nobody told me there would be math on the test" . . . hope your calls go well today!

Ha!  I was setting up random drug testing pools and I had to do math today.  LOL  I set it for 10% of the pool and while I'm not a math whiz, I do know that 48 is not 10% of 120 ;o)

Me too!!!

I'm not crazy about overly sweet things but I think a little bit of marshmallow might be good for a change. Maybe cut back (or out) on the brown sugar.

mtc, it is awesome that you are so game to try new things when it sounds like you were brought up pretty strictly. I am impressed my Friend!!!

Thank you so much Chili! . . . my mom was an amazing cook and I was raised on delicious Bohemian food but ask for a tuna casserole or mac and cheese, forget it . . . that's why I so enjoy trying out the simpler things now.  What my mom used to make is next to impossible to recreate in a smaller version but I have found comparable workarounds.  But I do get more of a kick out of what others consider "traditional" holiday fare like marshmallows on sweet potatoes . . . tee hee!
