No suspect yet but the police don't think it was a random act.

They have info the victim & shooter knew each other

They said the injuries are non-life threatening

She sounded so scared. He did really good taking care of her & calming her down

Very proud of them. Very thankful they called me right away, she knew I'd probably have the news on

One thing to keep in mind (and prepare for) is that people, while well meaning, will start to tell you how and how long to grieve.

Everyone is different and there is no right or wrong way and there is no timeline.

So just shrug that stuff off and don't let it worry you.

It's okay to be profoundly sad.  Feel whatever your feelings are and don't let people make you feel bad for feeling them.

Great advice @VaBelle35 .  We are all different in how we handle anything, especially grief.  It is a process and no one can tell anyone else how the "right way" to handle it is.

@VaBelle35, I just had this happen. The person told me I should not be like this because I knew this was coming. I was shocked to hear it.

@tiny 2

I'm so sorry you had this happen to you.  No one has the right to tell anyone they should be one way or another when there is such a loss.  Please count them off your close friend list and steer clear of them.  They have a lot of life to learn.

OH @ChiliPepper !

How scary can this be!  I'm so thankful that Chili Jr. and BF are safe.   I'm thankful that they were protected and kept safe.  Try to take a deep breath-I'm sure it is difficult to do so anytime you think about it.  Heart

We were blessed with a happy Thanksgiving.  Have few leftovers which is also good.  Did a little shopping-mostly on line today.  It is rainy and cold and I am sitting up to make sure most storms have passed and Jennie is quiet.  Will head to bed soon.  DH is exhausted.   He is already asleep.  That's fine.  I do better staying up late to be sure everything is alright and he does better getting up early to take care of things if need be.  Once I am out, I am out.  Pray everyone has a blessed weekend with their loved ones and I am so happy that all are supporting each other here on line even though we are not able to be together in person to do so.  Love you all!  Sleep peacefully tonight and pray you all wake up refreshed.

Good morning my Friend!

How was your T-day?

What are you up to today?

Hiya @ChiliPepper , nothing much going on around here.  The Thanksgiving in a box from Trader Joe's was good, I'll get it again next year as it's perfect for me.

How is DD?  What did you guys do yesterday?  Any fun plans for the weekend?

mtc,

How was that turkey and dressing encased in a crust?  What other stuff did you get to go with it?

@Writer with Flair  it was good especially for the money.  Next year I'll bake it at a lower temperature and maybe a bit less time as I overbaked it a bit but the flavors are very good.
