We have so much for which to be thankful.

Here is a video made by a 93 year old woman who makes a Poorman's Feast from the Great Depression.

@RespectLife wrote:

New for Thanksgiving is an attempt at my Gram's stuffing.  Couldn't find anything remotely close online....so sis and I were racking our brains cuz we were little!

It is a bread 'loaf' stuffing sorta meatloaf style.

I remember her drying bread.  I THINK she squeezed them then with milk? Then eggs, and lots of parm cheese.  Guessing on the spices...italian herbs maybe?

Stuffed in the cavaty and then when done, you slice it like a meatloaf.  Makes fab sandwiches.

NOT a crouton stuffing at all.  Solid like a meatloaf is the only way I can describe it.

@momtochloe  suggested grating onions which would be good.  I don't remember ANY onion bits cuz as a fussy child, I wouldn't have eaten it!

@VaBelle35

Does any of this ring your Italian bell?

I asked other 'old Italians' still living and they think I am making the whole thing up!  LOL

Sis confirmed.....so we shall see!

@RespectLife This is how we make meatballs in my family.  It's more Depression era than Italian, I think.  It was a way to stretch meat.  We soak the bread in milk (no idea why) and mix it into the ground beef.

Good morning everyone

I hope you enjoyed your turkey day.

Work has been busy since we were in a meeting all week in early November and then had events each week.  Next week is our holiday party.  There's nothing left to do but fold the programs on Thursday and I have an army of people to do that.

So now it's time to relax and get caught up on stuff at home.
