So, I have been wanting watermelon 🍉 lately.
I stopped at Aldi's after work Friday to see what they had.
$ 7.99 for a medium size watermelon 🍉!
WOW!!! Seems so high.
Even the canteloupes were 4 bucks!
Has anyone bought one or priced them lately??
I passed but I did get grapes 🍇 & pears 🍐 which are delish!

I wanted watermelon too...but gosh!
Tops had a cut piece less than a qtr of a full melon and it was $6!
I passed as well. It was way too small for that amount of money.
Wegman's uses a lot of VERY local farmers produce...so I am hoping when their gardens come in....prices won't be so bad.
The cost of diesel fuel to ship our food and items is a HUGE part of the problem.
Our fuel costs at our company are 3x greater than the same period last year.

Plus, cut the corn off the cob. It looks pretty but not practical to eat.
This chowder is also supposed to come together in about 30 minutes, which is a total win in my book...but we'll see how legit that claim is.

Overall, the recipe itself (with that one very important modification) is a total winner. I'm not normally a soup-in-summer kind of guy, but this may very well become part of my summer rotation. For anyone worried about the clam juice, the flavor it imparts is light, and the splash of heavy cream makes the dish just rich enough without feeling at all heavy. It's a genuinely easy 30-minute meal, and with all that vibrant basil and sweet corn, it really does feel like summer in a bowl...but I can promise you with near 100% certainty that your kids won't like this one. Sorry, Martha. ❤️
And if for some wild reason you did cook this for a child and they enjoyed it, I must know about it.

I just ran into this product. I usually like anything limey. Anyone ever try these?

Ha ha, yeah, I got a LOT of salmon! I'd say a freezer full, but it is more like an OCEAN full!
I'm going to make that chowder....MINUS the corn on the cob...really? I'm not sticking my fingers in my soup to chomp on a mini cob! LOL
but I think any good chowder should have corn. I have some Weg frozen to use up anyways.
Thanks!

I used to eat Rice Krisps all the time @ChiliPepper but got away from them for some reason!
I have never tried anything like that! Sounds Yummy.
The most adventurous I went was maybe Cheddar Cheese.
