Good morning Kitchenettes! Heart

So Jewel just dropped off my groceries and lordy I hope the nice delivery man didn't peek in those bags as my order looks like it should have been delivered to a frat house:

  • Ruffles
  • Cheetos
  • Fritos
  • Diet Pepsi
  • 2 packets of gravy mix (one pork, one jalapeno)
  • Cream cheese
  • Beer

What am I, five? . . . ugh . . . hee!

I did do constructive things this morning like make bread dumplings and sweet and sour cabbage so there's that . . . Smiley WinkSmiley Very Happy

@ChiliPepper  my friend, I like that recipe but I think it would prefer it as a side dish as I just can't wrap my head around green beans and crackers . . . Smiley Surprised

I like the idea of mixing in the yogurt and sour cream, thanks for posting this! Heart

@momtochloe, Are the Cheetos the Jalapeno flavor???(case on the way)  What are you doing with the Brussels sprouts? They are not my favorite thing but I discovered from a friend that they are wonderful when shredded and then sauteed with some shallots in butter. I now have Brussels Sprouts love. Heart

Oh gosh @tiny 2  I am constantly stalking my appliances around here and now I know I need to take several seats as you have more than had your hands full!  Good grief, I cannot believe what you have on your plate my friend . . . Heart

It sounds like you have wrangled the appliances into submission and I hope the worst is behind you.  I am thinking the townhouse is a replacement for the house you are selling and will supplement your mountain cabin?  I am glad you have both as it will give you better access if/when you need some assistance like with your therapy or your monthly transfusions and you will be closer to family and friends.

@momtochloe, Yes, I will keep the mountain house and I think I will enjoy the townhome except for the pantry is a wee bit skimpy. I am used to 2 large pantries and the wine cellar has extra shelves for more pantry items(lots). I bought one with a double garage so that will help with storage of Chrismas ornaments, trees etc.

Snort, no sorry @tiny 2  I am a Cheetos purist and will only have the original crunch in the house however I have stumbled upon a delicious jalapeno gravy mix that would make a delightful dip with a few changes . . . come on over my friend, trust me I got plenty! Smiley Very Happy

And oh gosh those brussels sprouts . . . luckily the majority of them are shoved into the freezer but I am having a bit of a stand off with the kind that are supposed to steam in the microwave (which work great if you have one and of course I do not) so now I am thinking casserole.  That cute little Molly Yeh had something on this morning so I need to go investigate what she did and see if that would work with what I have.  Previously frozen pearl onions have also joined in so this should be quite the spectacle before I land this culinary plane . . . Smiley Embarassed

And your friend is spot on, that is a wonderful way to prepare brussels sprouts for you know . . . normal people . . . Smiley WinkHeart

Oh gosh @tiny 2  did this take me back to when I bought this place.  It was between this one and another slightly larger unit.  It had an enormous walk iin closet and *bonus* a small pantry.  I was in love until I saw the view from the balcony (it had a panoramic view of the old, rusty awning over the entrance of the building and then the parking lot).  I was immediately depressed.  I have been so spoiled to be able to always have a nice, calming yard to look out on during the day (as I do now) I just couldn't choose that one . . . . oooops. Smiley Embarassed

I am glad you chose one with plenty of garage space, gosh that is more important than most folks realize!

@momtochloe, The view was a big factor with me too. My place has woods and huge full cedar trees on the corner. It is also an end unit. I knew I would not be able to stand the patio looking on to other houses. It is odd about the little pantry though. I have a great carpenter /friend that will be able to work a little magic with that space. The bathrooms have massive storage and the closets are nice and large. I am trying to figure how to do a TV in the family room. I have always had a separate room for the tv. It has a beautiful fireplace that I want to be the focal point. I am going to have a tv upstairs too. One of the bedrooms will be a den/office. It is very exciting and a relief in many ways. This house that I have loved so long is just way more than I can care for and it is sad without my husband.
