Good morning Kitchenettes, happy Thanksgiving to one and all . . . Heart

As I in all my culinary glory decided to make a chicken and boxed stuffing meatloaf for today (I don't get it either but it is rather good), any chance anyone has any room at their table for these two sweet babies?

Enjoy the day my friends! Heart

Oh gosh @tiny 2  did this take me back to when I bought this place.  It was between this one and another slightly larger unit.  It had an enormous walk in closet and *bonus* a small pantry.  I was in love until I saw the view from the balcony (it had a panoramic view of the old, rusty awning over the entrance of the building and then the parking lot).  I was immediately depressed.  I have been so spoiled to be able to always have a nice, calming yard to look out on during the day (as I do now) I just couldn't choose that one . . . . oooops. Smiley Embarassed

I am glad you chose one with plenty of garage space, gosh that is more important than most folks realize!

@momtochloe, The view was a big factor with me too. My place has woods and huge full cedar trees on the corner. It is also an end unit. I knew I would not be able to stand the patio looking on to other houses. It is odd about the little pantry though. I have a great carpenter /friend that will be able to work a little magic with that space. The bathrooms have massive storage and the closets are nice and large. I am trying to figure how to do a TV in the family room. I have always had a separate room for the tv. It has a beautiful fireplace that I want to be the focal point. I am going to have a tv upstairs too. One of the bedrooms will be a den/office. It is very exciting and a relief in many ways. This house that I have loved so long is just way more than I can care for and it is sad without my husband.

@tiny 2  oh gosh I know how much your current house means to you but I also know how hard it can be to be surrounded by things and memories of your wonderful husband.  As hard as it will be to leave, you are able to take the warm, comforting thoughts/experiences with you . . . Heart

Your new place sounds lovely and I can't wait to hear about the modifications you will be making to make it your own.  You chose wisely in selecting an end unit as I would imagine you catch some great light from that extra outside bank of windows, good for you!  Now if you need any guidance as to how to hang your drapes with paperclips or tying up a curtain rod with ribbons from Aldi pj's, just let me know as I am your guy!  Smiley WinkSmiley Very Happy

Bless you my friend, I am so happy you have found a place as wonderful as you are . . . Heart

Hee oh @tiny 2  my friend, you do not want your draperies to look anything like mine!  Smiley Surprised

I knew when I bought this place it had zero window treatments so I came armed with those temporary paper blinds but let's just say I didn't think too far beyond that . . . ooops . . . I recognize the curtain rod configuration from my mom's house (think early 70's which was drapes-palooza) but not very helpful now (put a pin in that thought).  After a while those paper blinds can get cranky so off I went to Aldi as they had black out drapery panels, score!  Now how do I hang them, again ooops.  I knew I couldn't install curtain rods on my own so I decided to use those 70's rods and use opened up paperclips to attach to my Aldi find . . . and it worked!  It's also about 8" short of the floor but you can't have everything (I have also upgraded from the paper clips to regular drapery hooks, tres chic).

Now in the bedroom, I have a curtain rod suspended from the 70's rod with ties/ribbons from various Aldi purchases like a robe and some bedding.  Now that actually doesn't look too bad . . . not great but not too bad . . . Smiley Wink

I treated myself to that Worx cordless screwdriver during the free s/h weekend so goodness only knows what trouble I'll be getting into with that . . . stay tuned . . . Smiley Very Happy

Hope you are doing well my friend and that you enjoyed your Thanksgiving . . . Heart
