I listened to some really great podcasts this weekend.

Noah St. John - One is about a different way to do affirmations (he calls them afformations) as you phrase it as a positive question, which causes you to ponder the answer vs trying to convince yourself of something you know not to be true.

Cassie Parks - this is one of those "power of positive thinking" approaches but the thing that got me thinking this morning was about our "stories."  The stories we tell about ourselves when we interact with people.  Some people will fixate on a negative attribute about themselves and mention it all the time.  It becomes our "story" and we perpetually live the story.

Very deep for a Monday morning.  LOL

In other happy news, WC#1 is around a lot today (I am wearing the black scuba dress), and he's wearing my favorite shirt/suit (he must only wear the purple shirt when he wears the gray suit).  And he's all tan and everything.

Happy Monday kitchenettes,

I bet you all wondered what happened to me!

Its been a frantic couple of weeks. I've popped in to read about what's happening with everyone, but wasn't able to collect my thoughts to put together a decent post.

My mom had a serious health scare (but all is well, thankfully) and DH and I had a few days away...life has been moving along at a rapid pace.

Today is is my oldest's first wedding anniversary. What a year it's been!  Her husband is a great young man and we are happy to have added him to our family.

Those are are the highlights.....I should be able to be more present and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better!

Hope everyone's day is joyful and filled with good things,

Good morning @seattlegirl98026 good to see you again my friend!

I am so glad to hear your mom is on the mend, that is great news and how wonderful that your fabulous daughter has such a great DH (and you a DS-in-law).  I love it when a plan comes together . . . Smiley Happy

Enjoy the day Seattle!

So, one of the ladies (I use that word loosely LOL) at the picnic yesterday brought mac & cheese in a Temptations bowl (H206910).

Normally, I would have started the "Q" conversation but she was so loud & crude that I had no desire.

Sorry, I know I shouldn't judge but I can't believe people really talk like that.

I don't collect Temptations but nice bowl though even if she wasn't LOL!!!!

Your post reminded me of this episode of Friends.  LOL

As someone who (literally) works blue, I can see how we are not everyone's cup of tea ;o)

If my rampage on Thursday does'nt get me (at the very least) a stern warning, I don't know what will.  It was not my most professional day ;o)

@VaBelle35

Oh, trust me - I work in a warehouse so I have heard it all & said a bunch of it too LOL!!!

BUT, there is a time & a place. Every other word out of your mouth does not need to start with "f" & you certainly do not talk like that around children (common sense you'd think) & elders (that's how I was brought up). Though we must have been close to the same age & we were the "elders" LOL!!!

Plus, when anyone else tried to talk she just shrieked louder! Unbelievable!

Our former VP of HR swore like a sailor.  She made the men blush.  She is now (fittingly) working at one of the oldest shipyards in the country.  Their HR person there called me about a week after she started to say that about 20 years ago they spent a FORTUNE cleaning up the language and hostile work environment of the shipyard and she set them back 20 years in one day.

God love her.
