Your hibiscus is beautiful! I don't think I have ever seen one that had two colors on it either and I used to buy about 6 a year to put around our pool.
I love Damaris! I think I read that her cooking show did not get renewed which makes me sad. I have made a couple of her recipes and they have turned out wonderful. I find her easy to watch and fun. If I were her age, I would want her for my BFF! As it is, I would be more her mother's age-maybe older!

I made these last night to go along with salmon that DH grilled. I think they would be even better over a good steak!
Bourbon Mushrooms
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
2 pounds assorted fresh mushrooms, sliced or rough chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup bourbon
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons dried parsley ( I used one teaspoon of fresh finely chopped parsley)
2 teaspoons of French thyme
Melt butter with olive oil in large pan over med. high heat. Add mushrooms, salt and pepper and cook 10-15 minutes until most moisture has evaporated. Add bourbon and cook 2-3 minutes longer. Add garlic, parsley and thyme and cook another 2-3 minutes.
I think when I make these again, I am going to use 1 1/2 pounds of mushrooms and add 1/2 pound of sliced onion. One thing for sure, my house smelled so good for the rest of the evening! I think leftover mushrooms would also be a good topping for pizza as they have a very rich flavor. Probably could also mix them with some fresh chopped tomatoes and use as brushcetta. Drizzle a little olive oil over the top or balsamic and drop some fresh shaved pieces of parm over the top-yum!

@mustang66lady I so love jazzed up mushrooms like this! After they have become a side dish I love them especially in omelets and breakfast types meals . . . delish!

I love your hibiscus. It's like Fraternal Twins. Every time you post a picture I want to get one. I have to look in my yard this fall and see if the spot I have is a good one for hibiscus.
I have never been blueberry picking. I have picked cherries, apples, strawberries and pumpkins (do Christmas trees count?), but never blueberries. I don't know if we have blueberry patches close by here.
re headlights
I hope you can do it yourself. I looked up mine on YouTube and it required a lot of clips and bolts to remove to get to it but because they couldn't film inside the car, they couldn't really show how to remove and then replace them all. Way out of my comfort zone. The bulb was $36 and the labor was $40 I think. I have a 2004 Camry.
I am all over the bourbon mushrooms. They sound fabulous.
I made this recipe yesterday. I don't know why it's called a "salad." I guess I don't understand the definition of salad. Maybe any vegetable with a dressing is a salad.
It's basically roasted cauliflower with a tahini paste dressing. Since I have to eat this over the course of many days, I kept the dressing and the cauliflower separate and any using it like a dipping sauce. My dressing needed a lot fo water, I think I didn't mix my tahini paste well the first time I used it, so it didn't have a lot of oil left. I used a lot more lemon and salt than was called for as well. It's very good.

I just read that it is 31 days until meteorological autumn. I cooling thought for this steamy Monday.
Have a great day, everyone.

Normally, I would have started the "Q" conversation but she was so loud & crude that I had no desire.
Sorry, I know I shouldn't judge but I can't believe people really talk like that.
I don't collect Temptations but nice bowl though even if she wasn't LOL!!!!
Your post reminded me of this episode of Friends. LOL
As someone who (literally) works blue, I can see how we are not everyone's cup of tea ;o)
If my rampage on Thursday does'nt get me (at the very least) a stern warning, I don't know what will. It was not my most professional day ;o)
