Oh @ChiliPepper this so makes me laugh . . . back when I was taking care of my mom I would fly around in the morning getting her going and then settled for the day but even after my shower I would still be dripping in sweat in the warmer months so I would literally stand in front of a tower fan (best invention on the planet in my opinion) until I cooled down . . . that is one smart doggie!

Happy Fabulous Friday Kitchenettes!

Kind of quiet here on the thread today.  I hope everyone is ok and not suffering from heat.  We have a tropical rain forest going on here with heat indexes to rise to 115 this weekend.  The rain keeps coming in storm waves and the grass and weeds-I'm going to need a herd of goats grazing to help keep things under control.  If I had known it was going to be like this, I would have planted rice!

You are killing me with the pictures and cartoons!  You have the touch for finding the right photo/cartoon/cocktail for every occasion!   I have 3 dogs each sleeping on their claimed piece of the sofa, enjoying the a.c.  It will take an act of God and Congress to get them to move!

My fine IL sista-are you dodging some of this heat?   I saw on the weather that this heat warning is for all of IL so know you are included in this as well.  Don't do too much running around if you can help it.  Did you get your hot dogs the other day?   I thought of you this morning while watching the news-there is a hot dog stand in St. Louis called Steve's.  He has a place on The Hill and recently opened another.  He was making hotdogs that looked amazing this morning and all dogs were half price today in honor or National Hot Dog Day!   This was the only place I have heard it mentioned.

What wonderful friends you and Mr. Writer have been to this family.  I am so happy Rodney is continuing to recover, even if it is going to be a slow recovery-certainly better than no recovery so we will be patient.   And I am thankful that witnesses have come forward with testimony to the crime along with names.  In this day and age, you can't always count on people willing to become involved.  Thankful for their courage and praying a hedge of protection around them as well.

I had to laugh at the walk down memory lane when you open this thread!   I'm the same way-it's unreal how long we have been talking, and involved in each other's lives.  You had asked about my hands and recovery-thank you.  I no longer have pain in my hands as I did but I do have two fingers that have triggered as a result of the surgery.  I sleep with a brace to keep my thumb straight and tape my ring finger to do the same.  Seems to be working on my thumb-it doesn't trigger as often and not as painful.  I do not have the grip I used to have and need to work on that but otherwise, I am happy with my results and happy I went thru the surgery.

I think you should go ahead and make the kahlua pops as well-then you would have a "daytime" refreshment and a nighttime refreshment!  Hope you are recovering from your exhausting week-you can't keep burning the candle at both ends and you have been one non-stop busy lady!
