Okay my friends...I am on the lookout for a recipe for Anchovey Crusted Salmon with a liver and mushroom pate on top !

Just for you guys!

 TEEE HEEEEE  !!!

Okay, Respect,

You Little Dickens! What will you think of next!

If you can come up with a recipe for Anchovy Crusted Salmon with a liver and mushroom pate on top, no doubt Chili will find an equally creative libation to down while eating this amazing dish. I did have a question about this dish: does one serve the Anchovy Crusted Salmon with a liver and mushroom pate dish with slices of fresh avocado on top? Inquiring minds want to know. Somehow that addition felt “right.”

Respect Life wrote:

It could have been worse as I see no mention of avocado . . .

That's cuz Chili and I have decided we could 'suffer' (tee Hee) through avocado if we had to.  We don't hate it...just don't love it.  Same with the sprouts!

I added peas to the list of things I could suffer through since they can be swallowed whole like a pill with a glass of milk or water.

So the others were on @ChiliPepper list of...

AIN'T NO WAY....NOPE, NADA, FERGIT ABOUT IT...

YOU CAN'T MAKE ME EAT THAT...I'LL SIT AT THIS TABLE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.....

I'D RATHER EAT DIRT AND WORMS....

Respect,

Per your request, I am enclosing a recipe for a Dirt and Worms Dessert. I hope it was what you had in mind.

Dirt and Worms Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cold milk

  • 1 (4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

  • 1 (16 ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

  • Add all ingredients to list

Directions

  1. Beat milk and pudding mix together in a bowl until well blended and slightly thickened; let stand to thicken, about 5 minutes.

  2. Stir whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies into pudding. Spoon 1 tablespoon crushed cookies into each serving cup. Fill each cup 3/4-full with pudding mixture and top with remaining crushed cookies. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

Here is a drink recipe you may also like:   Dirt Cup Cocktail

Ingredients:

1 cup crushed Oreo's
1 lemon wedge
2 cups gummy worms
2 1/4 cups vodka
1/2 cup kahula
1 pint Half-n-Half
Ice

Directions:

Put gummy worms into a plastic container. Pour 2 cups of vodka over the gummy worms, seal it with a lid, and let the worms soak overnight.

The next day, pour the crushed Oreo's onto a plate. Take glass and rub the rim all the way around with a lemon wedge. Flip the cup over and place the rim of the glass into the crushed Oreo's covering the rim. Next, fill the glass with ice. Add four or five vodka soaked gummy worms, 1 tablespoon of vodka, 2 tablespoons of Kahula, and fill the rest of the glass full of half-n-half. Repeat process with remaining three glasses.

Well here I am late to the party again tonight!  What's up with this-my schedule is all messed up!   I think we are to get rain tomorrow so maybe I will be more up with things!

Chili,

Thank you  my friend - I wish we all could talk as well.  Yes, I have been thru a lot but there are those who have been thru more.  I am fine; that incident happened a long time ago and to be honest, I was very blessed to come out alive.  I believe you can take the bad things in life and find something to learn from it but it does take effort.  I believe you have to make things better in your life and not wait for it to land on your head.  It is a lot of work to have a happy attitude.

And you were the first person on my mind when I heard that little frog start singing the other night!  I wish our tree frogs sound like the ones in Puerto Rico.  The tree frogs there have a sing song call that sounds like it is saying "ko kee, ko kee."  The name of the frog is Coqui (pronounced Ko kee!)  Here is a link to their legend

http://www.ournationalparks.us/caribbean/san-juan/revered_coqui_frogs_part_of_puerto_rican_culture/

I loved hearing them when we were there but then we did get to come home!  Now we have our tree frogs and they sound nothing like  the Coqui!

mtc,

I know what you mean about just not being able to put salmon in your mouth!   DH is from Baltimore and grew up eating fresh seafood.  He can't understand why I don't care much for a lot of  it.  I told him we are rather landlocked in the MidWest-there is no such thing as fresh seafood-it is at least a day old by the time it gets here!  Besides, I grew up with cows, pigs, chicken, turkeys, lamb-I never had to eat anything with gills and scales unless it came from the river (and most of us this far down the Mississippi don't eat the fish out of it!) or out of a lake or pond!  I can eat salmon if it is grilled and dry, but I simply cannot even stand to be in the same room with tuna.  I can't take the smell of it and the thought of putting it in my mouth absolutely makes me gag!  I would eat pine cones before eating tuna!  That is what Euell Gibbons said we could substitute, right?

And your Cubbies cleaned the floor with the Cards but all I can say is "Who has rings?!"  The Cubbies are due though and they have a great team.  I always think we do better against them later in the season and even better when we play them at Wrigley!

Writer,

My stars and garters girl, just where do you come up with some of these recipes?   Chili can make the cocktail and you can find the recipe for the food!  At least the kitchenettes know who to call for catering service!

Respect,

I'm glad you were able to figure out how to post pictures!  I need a tutorial on how to post photos here so I can show off my furbabies!  I can copy and paste cartoon graphics but don't seem to be able to post photos!  I guess you all will have to take my word that they are loveable furballs!

Thanks for posting that pork recipe-looks wonderful!  I have one you all are going to hate me for though.  A link for 19 recipes for ice cream that do not require a ice cream maker!

http://www.buzzfeed.com/emilycarlo/no-churn-ice-cream?sub=3820394_6187376#.ii6Y80x6G

These all look so good but the one that I will probably make first is the cinnamon!  I love cinnamon ice cream but Blue Bunny stopped making it.  I love it on a slice of warm apple pie or peach cobbler!  YUMMY!  I make a butter pecan one that is not on this site, that is DH's favorite!  That says a lot from someone who doesn't care a lot for sweets although he does love ice cream, pecan pie, and cheesecake.

Vabelle,

You already are packing in a lot on your vacation!  How did you do at the casino?   I never do well-just score when it is all you can eat crab legs night!

It was warm here today also-not as warm as yesterday that got in the mid 80's but I do think it is safe to plant flowers outside now and shorts for those who wear them, have been broken out for several weeks here!  Have to say, my nephew and family live in Denver and got a foot and  a half of snow over the weekend!  No short there ...... yet!

Waving hi to novamc and honeybit-hope you are enjoying the spring weather in your areas and are not suffering too much from allergies.  Our sweet gum trees started releasing their green pollen today-hope I can breathe in the morning.  Rain will be a blessing for sure!

I am sleepy and 5 a.m. comes early for this old lady.  Sleep well all and talk to you all tomorrow!

You know, I remember having to do that as a kid, it was over peas though. BTW, I really like peas now.

Me throwing up peas all over the table after being forced to eat them sure cured my father from the "force feeding" LOL!!!

Me too...guilty as charged.

I PRINT them though, I have notebooks fully (oraganized) & stacks (not so organized)!!!

@ChiliPepper  @momtochloe

Save room in that prison cell for me too!  Also guilty!

I have 7 HUGE binders with recipes.  The binders take up so much room in my pantry (which would be better spent on the spices that have invaded my house OR new kitchen gizmos!)

So I started printing them to try.  Only the best would go in a binder.

Seriously, not one more piece of paper will fit.  So now I print and stack.

In theory....the meals are planned from the stack.  Except the stack just grows and grows!

sigh....what to do, what to do??

I AM excited about our new series though!!

@Writer with Flair

Will you write the pilot for us???

Ok, maybe we hoarders need a 12 step program. Lets think...and not in any particular order:

Put the recipes in notebooks, small file boxes, folders etc., whatever suits your fancy.

Label the dang things LOL!

TOSS the ones you don't really like. If it wasn't that good the first time, do you really think there needs to be a second time??? Unless you goofed up of course!

I keep a small notebook in my work bag of the recipes I want to try soon, soon as in today or this next weekend. That way I don't have to hunt for the recipe or wonder "what the heck did I buy this ingredient for???". (Sound familiar everyone LOL????)

Ok, any other suggestions my Friends??????????
