Fate whispers to her, "You cannot withstand the storm." She whispers back, "I am the storm."

Good morning

Mustang - the cake was a generic picture.  I don't have the patience to make them that perfect ;o)

My next door neighbor was in your shoes yesterday, Mustang.  She lost her father a few years ago on Halloween and it is a sad day for her.  She has been mostly living with her mother (about a mile away) for the last year as her mother had double knee replacement, but she didn't want to be around for Halloween, so she came back to her house to hide for the night.  All I can do it let her know that I understand and will shepherd the kids away from her house.

I hope everyone had a nice Halloween. It was a quiet year here, most of my neighbors had their lights out.  I goes in waves here, some years all the houses participate, some years just one or 2.  Luckily I didn't hit the candy hard.

re weekend cooking

The Bacon Cheeseburger Soup is a winner.  The roast beef is not.  It's missing something.  It might be sugar as there is a lot of salt and sugar in onion soup mix.  I will have to see if I can make a nice wine sauce for it.  The meat is fine, it's just roast beef, but I would like to make a nice sauce for it.

It's cloudy and rainy here, so I am just going to make my pork chops today and catch up on my tv viewing.  My TiVo is almost maxed out.

Oh my goodness @VaBelle35 these look so good.  I copied the recipe, I'll try them this fall . . . I have a funny but gross story about stuffed mushrooms.

My girlfriend ordered them for lunch and gave me one to try.  I instantly fell in love and next time we went to that restaurant I ordered them . . . big mistake as my plumbing is just not built for that so to speak.

I made it back to work but then literally spent the afternoon in a bathroom stall with people coming in and out laughing at me . . . I couldn't stop laughing myself.  The only person that didn't think it was funny was my boss because I missed a staff meeting . . . oy.

Hey MTC, happy November my Friend!

Well, I handed out all of my candy, thank goodness because it got pretty cool out there.

DD decided at the last minute to dress up & hit a few houses! I had a feeling she would, still a kid in there LOL!

It was fun to see the kids, there were quite a few older ones but they were very nice & polite which was great.

Let me know how your brusel sprouts came out OK?

Hey Chili, happy November to you!

So glad you had enough candy and that your daughter opted to go out and enjoy the fun for a bit.  It always was so much fun when I was little . . . Smiley Happy

I think the brussels sprouts are going to be average.  At first glance I thought you mixed everything together but actually you create a balsamic reduction which is fine, just not what I expected and I have a bottle of that from TJ's.

Are you having our cool and windy weather now?

Hi VaBelle, thanks for starting out the week with an appetizer recipe.

Mushrooms are one if the few things I don't eat but the stuffing itself sounds delicious.

I was thinking of trying the stuffing on a thick slice of zucchini. What do you think? Any other ideas?

@ChiliPepper

@momtochloe

I thought a Chervil was a cat? Lol

hey Mtc, I lied.

I had a practically new Poultry Seasoning by Rachel Ray!

Must have come in a set.

Lol but I didn't get to the Pumpkin Risotto anyways.

Those dang trick/treaters started coming at 4 pm and I didn't get a chance to make it.

The Pesto Chix soup was delish. I never used Pesto before. Gave the soup a special flavor. I also added some mushrooms and tiny meatballs.
