Good evening everyone and happy Friday.

Thanks for the info on Beth Wheeler, I had not been out to Facebook this afternoon, but his last update pretty much said it was moment-to-moment.  I have a lot of respect for him for making those updates vs disappearing and allowing people to fill in the blanks.  It was probably better that way, less trolls and all.

I hope he takes off until after the holidays and gives himself some time with his family.

I know the hosts are rallying around him.  They are a pretty tight group.

re allergy test

That was a bust.  All that came back was a cobolt allergy, which I already knew from jewelry issues.  I've been reading a little online but will wait until they send me the official print out.  She suggested I go to a university for a more in depth allergy test.  I'll have to think about it.  I can't wait to see how much this waste of time cost.

I will start the process of elimination and see what I find.

re appetizers

I have a few, but will be taking notes as I will need some good ideas for bunco. I would really like to do food vs sweets for that.

Here is my recipe list for this weekend's cooking:

Bacon-Cheesebuerger Chowder (Taste of Home):

I will leave out the peppers.  I can't even imagine why that's in there.

Pork Chops with Country Gravy:

I eat Paleo now, so I swap out the flour with Arrowroot or Tapioca Flour and it works just fine. I've also used coconut flour and arrowroot.

Slow Cooker Roast Beef:

How bad can this be?  Beef and home made onion soup mix.

Primal Breakfast Casserole:

I like the idea of using turnips vs white potatoes.

re Costco

They appear to be redecorating.  Everything was moved around and it was hard to find stuff. I never found the organic meat, I wonder if it was a supply problem or they just stopped carrying it for lack of interest in my area.

I did pick up Pioneer Woman's new cookbook, Dinnertime.  I've gone through it and it has some good stuff, especially for winter.  Her stuff tends to be on a heavy side and is perfect for fall and winter.  It's also good for the menz as I find they like her recipes a lot.  Simple flavors, not too complicated, basic food.

Happy, happy birthday mustang! I hope you were able too do something fun this evening.

I understand about the loss of your Mom. I am so sorry. I lost my Mom when I was a senior in High School & life has never been quite the same.

Please take comfort in the news that you will be together again in Heaven one day. In the meantime Mom is watching over you smiling.

Hugs my Friend! (((Mustang)))

Oh no, oh I am so sad for Dan & his family. I always

liked him, his positive attitude, his love of family & his deep faith. He is one of the good guys.

I am so very sorry for Dan. My thoughts & prayers will be with Dan & his family.

First of all, let me say thanks to all of you-you have touched my heart with your kind words.  God is good and has kept me busy today which has helped, but my mind keeps trying to drift back to last year when my dear Mother was still alive.  I know where she is and for that, it is comfort.  It is my selfishness and pity party feeling sorry for myself.  I keep reminding myself what a blessing it is and was to have a Mother like her with her beliefs.   I was blessed to be holding her hand as she saw the face of God.  I could not ask for more.

mtc,

You are such a dear, sweet lady!  You are the most pleasant spirited upbeat person and it is I who feel blessed to "meet" you and all the ladies here.    This forum has seen me thru some very dark days, even before I ever posted anything.  And I do believe God has brought us together for a reason, my Northern sister.  Together we are powerful.  I wish I put everyone else first, but that is not always the case-God reminds me of that daily!  I am a slow learner for sure!

Honeybit,

Thank you for your encouraging words.  I think I was always concerned of what it would be like when I no longer had my parents and it is it's own special kind of aloneness.  There is consolation that there is a lot of people who go thru the same thing and I have a new found appreciation of things my parents went thru and always carried themselves with such dignity thru it all.  Have a blessed weekend, you special Southern lady.

Vabelle,

Please tell me that is a photo you copy and pasted and not a photo of a cake you actually made at some time!  That's the only cake I got today!  It's the best because the calories and carbs are very low!

And don't worry about those men!  Learn about yourself-maybe that will change the type of man you attract .  You are a woman of worth and somewhere, there is someone that was made special for you!

Chili,

Oh my dear!  I had no idea you lost your Mother at such a young age!  Your burden has been very heavy but stars and garters are you ever a warrior, raising your daughter, working, taking care of house and home plus caring for all of us!  I believe God has some very special plans for you and I also believe that satan fears you!  The lessons to be learned from you are great.  And your daughter has a great example in you.

My best friend in the world-my sister from another mother, and her husband took my DH and me out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant this evening.  I have known them almost 40 years and am very blessed to call them friends as well as family.  It was a very nice evening and the food was wonderful.  When I came home, I read all of your wonderful, sweet, encouraging words.  Thank you all for helping to make this a memorable birthday.   Heart

HAPPY HALLOWEEN MY FELLOW WITCHENETTES!

It's cold and rainy here so I'm thinking I should be good with the candy I bought.  It's really awful outside right now.

I am off to treat myself to some fried calamari a store by me is featuring today.  I haven't had it in an age (maybe since I had gotten married?).  I'm usually not big on seafood at all but I do enjoy calamari every once in a while.

Have a good day my friends!

Well I finally made it back home . . . what a mess it is out there but I had the loveliest surprise when I went to get the calamari.  I ran into my niece and her husband.  I haven't seen them since my mom passed and I broke up with my siblings . . . what a lovely, lovely surprise.  Heart

And I ordered my Christmas wreath from the Boys Scouts . . . score!

Good morning and Happy First Day of November my friends!

Ok, turn back clocks . . . check.

Have candy for breakfast for the entire month as I have a full bowl of candy . . . check (unfortunately).

Hope you all had a good Halloween weekend . . . I'll be trying a new brussels sprouts recipe I just received this morning made in the crockpot with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese . . . should be interesting.

Have a good one everybody!
