Just finished reading through that WP Rice Cooker thread -- (I STILL think of the computer program Word Perfect when I see those initials!) -- very interesting.  And it did get better as it went along.  Now I know why you were making everything in your rice cooker when I first joined this thread, mtc.  I'm surprised the thread had moved so far down in the Forum so quickly when the last post was earlier in this month.  Thanks for mentioning it here.  (Time to go eat a very late lunch!)

HoneyBit, I think the best recipe I can give you is to encourage you to buy the corresponding cookbook.  I resisted for a long time as I thought it was too pricey (I normally buy second hand on Amazon) but that book is worth every dime.

It is currently in stock with free shipping.  They go very quickly so if you are interested I would encourage you to purchase one sooner rather than later.

It has so many interesting things to make and it gives amounts for three different size rice cookers so it's a good fit for everybody.

Your "GREEN" comments reminded me of a movie line about the contents of the guy's refrigerator: When asked what the green stuff was, he replied:   "It's either very new cheese or very old meat."

mtc, I have been browsing the WP Rice Cooker thread you mentioned in the Kitchen Forum.  Since you said you had found some good ideas there, I've been perservering my way through it.  Your post is still the last one in the thread.

I mentioned that my "across the road neighbor" is raising Golden Doodle Service Dogs.  I just talked to somebody who has one of them -- her blood sugar takes sudden dives and her husband's takes sudden high spikes, and the dog is trained to sense sugar levels and alert them.  Amazing what a dog can sense -- I'm beginning to worry everytime mine gives me a good sniffover!

One of the staunch supporters of SDP actually has one of the SDP's service dogs residing close to her and she runs into them occasionally and Roo still remembers her but stays "on duty" until his human tells him it's ok.

There was also a dachshund that was a service dog that could predict when a woman was going to have an asthma attack . . . it truly is nothing short of a miracle how these dogs can sense things that human cannot.

There was a mishap at SDP today . . . one of the mama dogs accidently stepped on one of the babies paws . . . howl, a bit of a limp but now all is well . . . Smiley Happy

Wow, a little step from Mama would be kind of like a little bump from an elephant's shoulder to one of us.  Glad the tiny (relatively speaking) paw is okay.

I'll be honest, I can't believe it hasn't happened before . . . I think it may be because they had so many litters in such a short amount of time . . . all are well and all of the puppies are pretty hardy at this point so they are more focused on weening them from mama to gruel which they are all thrilled with except Scarlott who accidently stepped on one of her little ones.  She tried to assist with the gruel feeding (won't go into details here but was very, very sweet albeit incredibly gross).  This is Scarlott's last litter, she may have last baby blues . . .
