This is an old favorite in our house:

Pizza Burgers

1 ½ lbs. ground chuck

1/3 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese

1/3 cup onion, finely chopped (or to taste)

2 garlic cloves, grated or minced

2 teaspoons fresh oregano, finely chopped

2 teaspoons fresh basil, finely chopped

3/4 cup pizza sauce – less if you wanted less moist burgers*

sliced mozzarella cheese (or provolone)

English muffins

Combine first 7 ingredients (to line), and shape into 8 burgers. Grill over medium heat until desired degree of doneness. Top with slices of mozzarella and continue to grill just until melted.

Split and toast the English muffins. Rub each half with a freshly cut garlic clove. Add a small spoonful of more pizza sauce onto the toasted bread, then assemble the cheeseburgers and serve.

*If too moist, these burgers can be hard to turn on the grill. Using a ‘flipper basket’ helps.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.
