Hi @hovis

Good question! I've reached out to Pat's team for you, but I don't know if anyone is in today. It may take a few days to hear back, due to the weekend, but hopefully they'll be able to find out for us!

I just want to say that Pat has been looking exceptionally beautiful lately. I like her in the red lipstick.

@hovisI just heard back from Pat's team! They believe it was a 10" round. However, they also wanted me to share with you that this cake can also be made as a bundt cake, a two layer cake, three layer cake, or as cupcakes! Smiley Happy

  • One-Pan Cake: Grease and flour 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  • Two Layer Cake: Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
  • Three Layer Cake: Grease and flour three 8-inch round baking pans
  • Bundt Cake: Grease and flour 12-cup fluted tube pan.
  • Cupcakes: Line muffin cups (2-1/2 inches in diameter) with paper bake cups.

I'd use a 13 X 9 pan.  Generally, that is the only size cake I make, because my pan has a cover so the cakes stay moist.

Mom's Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake

by Pat_James-Dementri ‎01-27-2016 01:14 PM

It is chocolate cake day! My mom made her chocolate cake using coffee... Do you have a secret ingredient when making cake? Enjoy chocolate cake day with some delicious chocolate cake and a glass of cold milk...

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 lb butter (soft) or 1/2 cup Crisco
2 eggs beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup boiled coffee

Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa in a bowl and set aside.  In a larger bowl beat butter and eggs till smooth, then add vanilla and milk. Slowly add flour mixture to butter mixture.  Beat for 2 mins with mixer than add 1 cup of boiling coffee and beat 2 mins more.  Bake at 350 for 30-40 mins.
