a simple recipe for summer.

 

1 pkg. orange cake mix

1/2 cup oil

4 eggs

1 sm. pkg. vanilla pudding

1 cup 7-up

 

Beat all ingredients into a thick batter. Spread into 2--9'X5' loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes.

 

Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

3-4 Tbsp. milk or heavy cream

Whisk together and warm in microwave for 10 seconds and drizzle if over bread.

Can I leave out the 7 Up?  We don'r drink soda and I hate to buy a bottle - the rest would be poured down the drain.

That sounds good, I love anything orange.  Wonder about putting mandarin orange slices in it, what do you think?

This sounds like a good summer dessert.  I don't drink soda either so I would take an orange, zest it to put some in the cake and some in the icing, then juice it into my cup measurement.  I'd add water to make the rest of the cup.  Think this should work okay and you could juice the orange without zesting it, of course.  I just love to add the zest of citrus fruits to things.

This is unusual and sounds delicious. I will add orange zest because,ZEST!
