New recipe this week--well sort of---

This week, in fact yesterday--I cooked a  flank steak in my pressure cooker on its sous vide mode. It was AMAZING !!! I thawed it out, then seasoned it heavily, put it in a zip lock bag and then into my Instant Pot at 137* temp----it took around 3 hours maybe a bit more, to cook, then patted it dry and put a little olive oil on both side, then 2 minutes on each side on my grill. Let it rest for a long time as it was too early for a dinner--wow--very beefy flavored and seasonings just right--was a beautiful medium pink, with lovely grill marks and so very tender!!! Have enough leftover to make french dip sammies!!! I cooked up pasta with fresh made pesto and fresh lovely corn on the cob--also cooked in pressure cooker. Woman Very Happy

Sounds delicious. I want to eat at your house.

My mom used to take a flank steak and cover with bread dressing, then roll it up and tir with string. Brown then cook in pressure cooker. Make gravey if desired.

We then got to have dressing and gravey but it wasn't even Thanksgiving.

@wagirl  Your dinner sounds deeee-licious!   I just bought a new pressure cooker as the one I had from QVC from decades ago (Cook's Essential Oval Pressure Cooker) finally died.

I was looking for another electric oval pressure cooker but I couldn't find it, but I did find the Instant Pot Wide Rio, which is round but much wider round cooking surface and not as tall as the regular PCs  It has 40% more cooking surface than a 12 inch fry pan.  I haven't taken it out of the box yet.  Not sure if it has a Sous Vide mode.  If it does, I'm trying your recipe!

@Kachina624 ---Yes--my mom did that tooWoman Very Happy--and it was my most favorite meal she cooked. I can't tell you --probably hundreds of times that I made that meal for my family and they all LOVED it . I cooked mine in the oven tho--and didn't make gravy--not sure why I didn't???? We had the stuffing and then made mashed spuds to go with--in fact--that is the very reason I had flank steak in my freezer for that very meal----but decided to try this method of cooking.

@ciao_bella --I have never heard of that model of IP--I'm going to check it out later. I have a new-ish 6qt and then a 3qt too, so I don't need another one. I have been intrigued with sous vide for a while. I've done sirloin steak-- and salmon--very good. Need to try chicken next and some other things too.
