I called the place in Phonex, AZ they don't deliver to NJ...Darn.

 

Never had one but they sure look good on their site....maybe I have to

learn how to make them.  Thanks

I've been a Michigan Upper Peninsula transplant for 13 years.  Pasties are common around here, you might Google and have some sent to you.  Yoopers tell how the early iron miners took them below ground with them and heated them for lunch.   Miners were all nationalities, Italian, Irish, Finnish, Swedish, etc.  Yes, there is lard in authentic pasties, but you can easily substitute a healthier form of fat, if there is such a thing.

I did look at one company and shipping was 118.00 for 6!  lol and we thought QVC shipping was bad! Thanks!

i love pasties, i use rutebagies, in mine too. they take awhile to make, but it's worth it. they have frozen ones, too, but not as good.

 

i will have to look for a casserole version.
